I really like this video. I was just gifted my first project vehicle from my father-in-law and I plan to do most of this myself. Easy to follow and simple enough.

nice job! The bench seat looks great! A layer of burlap over the springs protecting the foam would make the foam last longer tho. On seat back not as important as on the seat itself.

Did you know if you hit the old yellow foam with a clothing steamer it expands back to its original size and shape?

My seat is wallowed out pretty good where the driver sits. Do you need to add any foam there before covering with the big piece of foam.
@moonlightfordf1005 Жыл бұрын
Most seats have a large bottom foam, then a thinner top foam. You should be able to Peel and discard the top piece then add the seat topper on top of the larger bottom.. but it’s hard to be sure without seeing it

You should tell us where did u get the new cover from, what was the side of the hog rings.

At the time of the Video, LMC Truck was the only place with inventory. It’s been a few months, maybe others have it in stock.
@moonlightfordf100511 ай бұрын
The hog rings, plus the extra bought also came from LMC Truck. I’m not sure of the size but 3/4 comes to mind.

Great video! What density is the foam? Where did you get your foam?
@moonlightfordf10058 ай бұрын
I use medium, to firm and it can appear lumpy when your stretching the cover over it at the edges.

When I did the cover LMC Truck was the only place that had inventory in stock ready to go.

Thanks! I think I will try this on my 66 F100. What size is the mattress foam - full size?
@moonlightfordf1005 Жыл бұрын
I used a Full size. That’s a perfect size.

@@moonlightfordf1005 Excellent! My truck is a daily driver and will never be worth a lot of money. Spending big bucks to professionally rebuild the seat makes no sense to me, but this looks like a good little project.

In comparison to bringing it to a shop, this is an inexpensive project that I feel anyone could do with just a little time and patience.

Nice job. What brand of cover did you use Sir?
@moonlightfordf1005 Жыл бұрын
I bought the cover from LMC Truck. They are about the only ones with inventory. The bed topper can be bought any place, but Amazon is the cheapest. Good Luck!

My 76 J10 the foam is intact and cover still there... but my springs i had like 7 broken springs. I had to weld them back to place. But i did with the seat still on. Suffice to say i had like 7 fires haha but blowing on it put it out.. seems fine now. I just made a clip about it if you wanna see
