It really makes you respect the power of the machinery they used to re rail them. Most impressive was in the recovery video when that excavator, like we see every day, pulling the locomotive along the tracks with its bucket.

I had NS 3600 as my leader on 290 just before new years out of Macon to savannah. If my memory serves me right, the conductor side ladder on the front was broken but seems to be repaired now

I saw the video when the put the locomotive units back on the track and back on their trucks. Is the weight of the locomotive the only thing that keeps them seated on the trucks - or are they some what attached, but broke free during the wreck?

@chris b with all the conversions being done on Dash 9 40-c's and Dash 9 40-CW's the AC6M may not be fixed. Over 500 locomotives have been rebuilt for NS already by Wabtec and 100 more are planned for 2023
