This is really interesting, although I do have a question, I have this old hp laptop, also running windows 7, I attempted to use a bootable usb thumb drive to get puppy Linux, but when in boot loader, it wouldn’t allow me to do anything? Any fixes? This was a real pain.

I would ask for help in one of the bigger linux related discord servers, because you probably need advice specific to your situation, (if you see me say hi :) discord.com/invite/linux --- discord.com/invite/sysadmin --- discord.com/invite/homelab Otherwise here are some general tips that may help: - try using a more mainstream supported distro like ubuntu (or xubuntu if trying to stay lightweight). - try using the same installation medium on a different computer (its possible you screwed up the preparation) - make sure you've disabled secure boot in the BIOS, and try tweaking other settings if necessary like boot order, UEFI mode, etc. k thats all i got off the dome, gl :)🙏
