If you find a truck you can immediately drive, just recover it. Some you can't. There are tasks to repair vehicles that you can only get after you repair fully (you can recover it then if you don't want to drive it home). Some tasks are actually to tow a vehicle to a spot though.

Also the ones you have to tow to your garage are a TON easier if you take a scout and go repair it first. The game wigs out when towing vehicles with damaged engines (the towed vehicle will enter an endless start-stall cycle and bring you to a dead stop you every 5 seconds)

@@dragonbutt I've also noticed that the parking brake likes to stay on for those you have to tow. I hope they fix that cause it has made me need 3 vehicles to tow a scout.

@@dragonbutt this is true. The caterpillar became very easy. And then I realised it could transport nothing useful, no trailers at all. Why the fuck is it even in the game? It was the only non Russian vehicle I even thought of using. I've got half a million in trucks and all I use are Russian vehicles buyable from the beginning. It's ridiculous

You should get the autonomous winch for your Scout, it'll let you use the winch even if the engine is off.

@@gohuskiez3428 you can still pull yourself free and even flip yourself back over. It's slow but it saves from having to spend another half hour getting a truck to where you got stuck.

Put the snowrunner transmission in. You lose 5th gear but get two more low gears, low+ is great. Just a bit faster than low but with diff lock

What does H gear do though? Makes engine stall if you stop and try to accelerate with it, is what I noticed.

@@alkestos H is high. Start in first to get rolling, or start in low. It's faster than low but it won't shift so it's locked in gear. Automatic sometimes shifts at the worst times. I almost fell down an entire mountain when it shifted and I started rolling backwards.

@@alkestos yeah it's like having 4 gears. Low 1-2-3 high 4. You wouldn't want to start your car in 4th. So you have to get it going first

To stop yourself from flipping you can use the quick winch on the opposite side of were your rolling and you can stop yourself.

Unless you dont have any winchable objects near you, if not then its back to recovery again :( I learned to consider center of mass,downgrading the suspension works a little too.

Depends on the winch, the default one don't do that, if you flip your engine goes off and winch won't work, you have to upgrade/find the winch that has a seperate motor that works even if your engine is off, but they are really weak for the rest of the content.

I’m posting this list of vehicle locations for people who want to find them. If you have ANY questions about really anything in the game or just need more details on the locations of these vehicles then please comment on my post and I’ll get back to you. I have also posted this same list on other KZbin vids as well to help out as many people as possible. Michigan: - The Scout 800 is located just past the town on Black River. It’s near a house on the top of a hill located North/North West. - The White Western Star is just below the dam on Smithville Dam that you need to bring back to the garage. - The Western Star 6900 Twin Steer is on Island Lake and is off the first road to the right of the tunnel just after you exit it from Smithville Dam. You need to repair and refuel it. (Although I only recommend getting that one to sell it immediately it’s absolutely horrible.) Alaska: - The Royal is located on the left side of North Port below a watchtower in some trees. (Btw you should get this one immediately because it is a VERY good truck to have early on and it helped me with the drilling rig trailers and other stuff) - The Hummer is in the center of North Port in a lake. You need to tow it back to the garage. (There’s already lots of videos on this btw) - The Caterpillar 745C is on Mountain River down a dirt road literally next to the tunnel connecting to White Valley on the right. You need to repair and tow it back to the lumber mill. (Be wary of getting it caught on trees. I almost didn’t get it because it got caught on some) - The ANK is located in the Pedro Bay in the top corner. You can actually see it on the map without having to discover any watchtowers. - The Derry Longhorn 3194 is in the river on White Valley near the tunnels. The mission is on the main road. I recommend towing it out with the ANK or the Royal. Russia: Ah here we go. The vehicles on this map are VERY good. - The Tayga 6436 is on the Drowned Lands map. just down the first dirt road right outside of the Garage on the first map. It’s just above the slanted wooden bridge. You need to repair it. - The Tuz 166 is off of some cliffs just above the lake in the Drowned Lands. I believe you need to tow it back to a repair station. (Honestly all of the Russian scout vehicles aren’t that good) How to Unlock the Quarry: - Do the mission Geological Survey using the Seismic Vibrator on Drowned Lands. - Repair the antenna tower on the hill above the garage in Drowned Lands. - That’s it! (There’s videos on KZbin on how to unlock the Quarry btw) - The Dan 96320 is a mission-locked vehicle. It’s located in the Quarry and you can only unlock it after completing the next Seismic Vibrator mission called “Georesearch - Starting Point.” The mission to get the Dan is called “Lost in the Woods.” You need to repair and refuel it. - The Step 310E is in Zimnegorsk (btw Zimnegorsk is already unlocked, you don’t need to do anything to unlock it) It is in a body of water in the center of the map. (Idk if you need to do a mission to unlock this one like the Dan. I will get more info on that and update this) - The Tuz 420 is on Zimnegorsk on a ridge on the top of the map. (There’s videos on KZbin about this as well) That’s really all of the vehicles that I remember you can find off the top of my head. If you guys need any more info please comment on this and I’ll answer your questions.

when you find an upgrade you have to press X and it tells you what truck its for, I think that upgrade at the top of the mountain was an upgraded engine for your ROYAL BM17

I've used the Royal for 90% of the jobs I've done, completed all in Black River and a bunch in Alaska, it's a beast, especially when you get the offroad gearbox that Low+ will go just about anywhere. Also, go to Russia and get the TUZ 42 Tatarin, it's in the northeast corner of the Zimnegorsk map back behind some trees up on a hill. You will not regret it. It's a scout vehicle that looks almost like a tank, I've never managed to get it stuck and you don't even need to drive on the road it will go everywhere.

You should just spend an episode opening all the towers, collecting upgrades and vehicles, then start doing all the contracts to open all the roads. Road Blocks, Rock Falls, Bridges, etc. Do that for every map and you’ll have a good selection of vehicles with upgrades and a bit of cash to splurge.

The royal truck is excellent once you get some decent tires on it.

I still haven’t replaced my Royal yet, and I been trying. The ground clearance is one of the best in the game with raised suspension and 51” tires, and I’m convinced the AWD on it is broken in an overpowered way. It just feels and acts differently from the AWD in other trucks. Although few trucks can reach S power/weight so early in the game. I think one of my Russian trucks may finally replace it, but I need the engine upgrades first.

You can put diff lock and awd in the fleetstar and it makes it a quite good truck for early on. Rank 6 you can get some off-road tires and it’s pretty solid. You can also find the lift and some better motors for it in black river and it makes a massive difference too!

You can equip either the flatbed or the short walled bed along with the loading crane so you don't need to drag a trailer along unless you want to for the smaller loads.

The royal truck is one of the best trucks to begin with. You can do almost all of Alaska with it. Sell your other trucks. keep your scout truck. In the second or third map of Alaska is a big Cat truck. That combined with the Royal you can complete Alaska.

You can also equip a flatbed on the Royal once the yellow crane is already on the truck. & It's an off-road truck even on road tyres. Also the autonomous winch can be used even if vehicle has flipped

Just so you know, you had to tow the hummer back, that is the mission, but normally just recover the trucks you find when available. Also the lift kit for the hummer is on the first Alaskan map but its not marked by the watchtowers. its between the port and the factory behind the garage on the shore. you have the dlc scout which is OP anyways. also wheels are unlocked only by levels not by finding them

I've sunk 30+ hours into the game solo so far and have come to one conclusion...it needs to be played with multiplayer to make useful progress. Drae, if you'd like, I can help you with your progression in the game - lots of the missions involve carrying more than one truck can handle on the terrain. I don't know if off-camera progression is good for KZbin or perhaps this post can simply inspire multiplayer with your usual buddies - IGP, Icy, etc. Moving forward, I'd suggest doing multiplayer because solo is just a massive grind

When you find the abandoned vehicles you can press reciver vehicle and it will send it back to the garage instead of driving the whole way back... Like so Drae can see

Srry to say but wheels are unlocked by profile level engine lift kits and gearboxes are upgrades you can find and drea the upgrades for the jeep that you first had the upgrades for it is in the Russian maps

Drae if you ever discover a vehicle that's stuck in some woods or buried in mud then all you have to do is switch to it and recover it that will save you a lot of time

Don't be, there isn't much of a story and the only thing you can spoil for yourself are locations of certain things. Other than that, i got the game as wel, and believe me, these videos are very useful because i am at the point where i am considering a crane, but money being as it is in that game, it's scary to make an investment into something you're not quite sure of how it works.

Low-detail Spoiler for a great truck location in Michigan: There's a great truck you can recover straight away in Michigan. To find it you need to leave the first map (top left), leave the second map (bottom exit), leave the third map (left side) and head to the right side.

@Drae Instead of using the "RECOVER" option when you flip a truck, look for a winch point and flip your truck back over.

KhaosFPV unless it’s a scout with the autonomous winch, when a vehicle is flipped and the engine isn’t running, the winches won’t work. So the only two options are to either recover the truck, or bring another truck and winch the first truck back onto it’s wheels.

You need the fleetstar its an absolute beast, ive made that truck go through places it shouldnt have made it through pulling a trailer with 2 loads of steel on it.

Going to Alaska is an early game mistake, the tires are unlockable as you progress in levels, and the starter Chevy has done me extremely well when scouting and I haven't come across any terrain that it can't handle besides snow. If you make it to the dam, you HAVE to go on the road. There is invisible walls if you don't stay on the road and you'll have to reset. There are spots in the water that are underwater rock bridges that allow you to cross to islands to get to upgrades. Make sure your scout vehicle has the *battery powered winch* so it can be flipped over if you're stuck with your engine off.

I wouldn’t worry too much about deep water in the Khan, it is a beast and just glides through the water. Btw you couldn’t just recover the Hummer, it was apart of a task and so you had to deliver it to the garage to complete it

Your transmission UGs will have a snow runner gearbox which takes away 5th gear and adds a high and low for your low range gears.

Quick tip: If u r on some mission and vehicle get stuck ??? No worries, you can quit the game (alt+f4) and reopen the game. Usually, game saves the progress after few minutes and luckily u will get the old progress.
