What is a GPU& CPU? What Is the Difference Between CPU and GPU?

I was curious about this when I checked my Laptop temps. The CPU was averaging around 58 C in all 5 of it's banks, and the GPU appears to be empty because nothing happed when I clicked on it. I watch a lot of You Tube and got tired of slow laptops, so I bought my 'Republic Of Gamers' laptop with the Geforce GTX and 8th gen CORE 17... I don't know much about computers but my laptop don't lag now.. Yes, I know how to add RAM lol . I would like it to be beefed up and w/ better cooling if possible. You Tube has a lot of great tech on my laptop also. I might actually try to do some gaming, but, for now, I love the speed and graphics of my you tube. Thanks for explaining the difference. BTW, I strickly use WiFi at the other end of the house without any wifi boosters and it works great. I'm impressed.....

I haven't finished the video yet yeah but I'd like to know how only gpu is like can reach like say ... Uuuhhh 2 GHz i think and CPUs are run in access of 4 or 5 GHz
