Giving subcutanous fluid helps a lot. My pups have parvo and is currently under treatment.If you give water through mouth he might throw up more water than the amount given to him. Subcutaneous fluid is the best way in such situations.Antibiotic injection can help control secondary infections. Injection to control vomiting is also needed. Also,syringe feeding sucrafil and pantoprazole helps in forming a layer in the intestine and reduces acid in stomach to reduce discomfort. I hope and pray that every infected pup overcomes this deadly virus.

My 3 months puppy was not vaccined so got parvo . 6th day today . 4 times drip treatment.. Now it's too much injections and all . Doctor suggested try curd , ors etc But I didn't give anything .. 1 time vomit yesterday only ..no stool .. I had given one spoon ors .. @@sunnytoor3306 Does he look visibly better? Is he voluntarily ready to eat? If not, keep giving subcutaneous fluids or IV, don't force feed him. If he looks like he is getting better, try giving mashed rice and curd or very small pieces of boiled chicken with mashed rice.

I love Disi dogs. I had such four puppies and four all had an attack of Parvo in the last week. As I live in a remote village of WB, we have no opportunity to meet a vet doctor. I searched network and started to give them ORS. Three puppies which were previously very weak, expired within two days leaving us in tears. But the fourth one whom we call 'Motu' for his good health is still fighting. Today he has started to eat again and looking much energetic. His normal behaviour is restoring slowly. I believe that he is out of danger. It's fifth day. We gave him ORS relentlessly and vitamin c. He is wagging tail and making sounds of joy as he did before. I think danger is over. Please don't give up hope. Keep them rehydrate and there is a great chance to revive. My 'Motu' is a good example.

Four times drip is too much in a day It will lead to loose more water instead of hydration. 1 day drip is enough along with other medicines a day and dont let him drink anything otherwise it will throw up again it will dehydrate it again. And dont stop treatment It takes minimum 7 days to recover from parvo,.after 7 days ur dog will show recovering signs. I hope ur dog is well now.

Yes, they're right, even if he eats he might vomit it back and it might upset his stomach as well, so just stick with ORS for now, he'll grow weak obviously but will recover soon and regain his strength after sometime, don't worry

Nahi khayega...meri wali ne bhi nahi khaya tha 10-12 din tabhi boht weak hui thi ...but liquid intake is important...uska dhyan rakho...chahe na piye fir bhi pilao thoda thoda krke...8-10 din ke baad recovery hone lagegi

Hlww sir, I m the mother of a pomarian breed dog he is vomiting 4-5 time last night and in his poop there is a reddish like something nd from past 2 days he is not eating anything but as u said in parvo + the dog will not drink water but my pupp is drinking water. yes even my dog used to drink much water and she was given injections by side.. she is fine now.. she is eating playing sleeping just like earlier but her poop is still not fully solid kind of

Brother I have confusion that my dog is also affected by parvo virus I had shown to doctor. He treated with saline. But he had told that not to give water and food to dog. He is telling that he will treat it only by saline till it recovers

He knows better... I was in my village and lockdown was going on so I had no option left... I did whatever I could... normally it's adviced not to give food or water... but I had no option that time...you please trust on your doctor and hopefully parvo will go away soon

I'm not sure... she's a bitch and someone dropped her off in our playground so I adopted her just to make sure she gets everything she needs...at first, people said she's bakarwali but I'm not sure... I just wanted to raise her up and help her stay healthy
