nicely done. wish you detailed your recovery build ie what fittings you have used etc. Re Venting R134a. When you call it a refrigerant, it's subject to a lot of EPA rules (as it should be) but when it's used as a propellant, the story is quite different. Good news is "Yes, it is a greenhouse gas" but No, "it doesn't deplete the ozone!

So I'm going to be doing a YF recovery and will be buying a recovery machine, already have the gauges, tank, vac pump. Question do the hoses for the YF tank connect to a Vevor Recovery machine just says its a HCFC unit? Just wanna be sure I can hook directly to it and use it for recovery with YF equipment. Thanks for the Video, Pretty cool little unit you made! Casey

does your DIY pump pull as well as that older dedicated vacuum pump? Do you ever use vacuum (micron) gauges? Do you use a scale when filling, or just a sight glass?

JUST A friendly heads up referring to reusing a single use tank @ 3:12 . at my previous job we ran through allot of refrigerant. I used to do the same thing. We made adapters to use them as air tanks for airing up tires. Most single use tanks we ran into starting about 3 years ago had a new design fitting ontop and the cut the top off trick does not work anymore. I know the new valves were on tanks of 134a, 410a, 427a, 404a, MO99 and 407c refrigerants so u may want to keep any old tanks you have laying around. and yes KZbin code enforcement police I KNOW your not supposed to i know the inside of the tanks are not painted, i also know my original tank from like 5 years ago still works fine and compressed air is WAY less pressure than any Freon and is 25% of the pressure the tank is rated for so there's no way the tank will "burst" it may get a rust hole and leak out some day.

Hey man, you have some of the only videos on the web talking about pulling engines on eco boosts, I am wondering if I could get a little help. I have a unique project, to say the least?

Gotta be real careful when working with this new refrigerant. Special vacuum pumps and evac machine that won't produce any static, also contamination is a big deal. I've been hearing about dealers filling 1234yf systems with 134 because they can't get 1234 quick enough. Scary when you can't even trust the dealer

At least the 134 is less volatile so it's safer. The cooling properties are dang near identical otherwise so I don't think it will hurt anything.

Well that would be nice. At time of recording video no one even had can adapter's. Now I see they are available as well.
