Seems like most of us like your build and fix videos as much or more than the recoveries! 👍👍

Eric, you remind of a dude I worked with when I was a dealer tech, he lasted 47 years at the dealer. Flat rate sucks, I lasted six. You should run your own shop, or not, it's up to you.

I need to send a link of this video to my Jeep dealership service dept. So they can see how to remove a tie rod with out screwing it up with a pickle fork. 🤔 I told them that after I found the torn rubber on mine.😖 Reminds me I need to go find a few D44 front axle's to build for my LJ and XJ one w 4:56 the other 3:73 hmmm.

I was surprised to hear that you were breaking grade 8 bolts on your spring retainer. I think upgrading the retainer plate would solve that issue. Good video can’t wait to see you back on the trail.
@offroadrecoveryteam3 жыл бұрын
If I custom made a plate that dropped over the spring so the bolts could be shorter, then the spring might not have the leverage factor to flex them so much.

While the nuts and bolts of the build only minorly interest me i cant wait for the e locker portion!!!!!! you should also do a carb tuning/build yours seems to run pretty well and theres many folks that could use improvement.
@offroadrecoveryteam3 жыл бұрын
My carb was built (years ago) following a very old article in a 4 wheel magazine on how to build a Holley for off-road.

question: if you put a solid block between the housing and spring pad where the 3 bolts go through . that might stop breaking and twisting the bolts off .

Don't toss those spring plates, I had to pay out the butt for aftermarket ones as the axle I bought didn't have any mounting hardware and the bolts were snapped off in the casting.

Kind of odd the all different don't have drain plugs ....... was there a reason ? Finally stopped snowing in the north so we may get some wheeling in soon!

Would putting studs work better on the inside where the 3 bolts go.
@haroldphipps34573 жыл бұрын
Some people put nice ARP studs there.

Man I thought this video would be getting the axel all tour down & show the rebuild of the axel and maybe showing you putting the rebuilt axel back under the truck!! But nope there is definitely going to be at least 3 or 4 videos of it!! You sure do no how to get a guys hopes up on stuff!! I’ve rebuilt plenty of Dana 60 & 70 so I guess it’s not to inform me on how to do it thank goodness!!
