The grill marks aren't painted on. Carl's Jr uses a conveyor grill to cook their patties. And the hot ass grill with a big flipping flame below it is what gives it the grill marks. It only puts marks on one side since the patties are ran through once and aren't flipped. Though you'd only know that if you either were able to goto the back and see how they cook their patties or if you had to work there because you were 15 and could only get a fast food job at the time on your Work Permit.....

I was a Carls Jr Store manager for 2 years and can confirm he's right. I don't live in the states so I have no idea about them lying or what he's talking about but yes the classic sauce is just 4 parts ketchup/tomato sauce 2 parts mayo and 1 part pickle relish and used on the same burgers. It's not at all a different sauce. Classic/big carl and the california classic burgers. Some promotional burgers which have the same looking sauce regardless of the name, it's also the same thing.

You've never been to the west coast. Carl's Jr did come first and had a bunch of burger restaurants, but never left the west coast states (WA, OR, CA, AK, and HI). Hardees was already established in the rest of the country. When the two merged, since the restaurants were the same, they kept the local names.
