+xtornfortommox imo that's usually because supermodels and stuff have flawless skin. he didn't need to use heavy foundation, concealer, contour, etc because her skin is perfect and she's super skinny :) but yeah I know what you mean, I love Lisa Eldridge's videos! So simple, so classy

+Rachel McCarthy you're actually a little off the mark. Pros have encountered (because they've been at it long and have TONS of work) every sort of skin there is. They work with acne, dry skin, rosacea, everything. Lisa Eldridge (she's with Chanel, Vogue, Lancôme), for example, has tutorials on problem skin, and she recommends pinpoint coverage, not "blanket" or mask-like foundation so the skin still looks like skin. She has a KZbin channel and she's brill.

+xtornfortommox I mean she started the video off with makeup on which is why this is so simple, I do think there's a difference in the heavy handedness of youtube/instagram make up artists but professional mua still layer and have an extensive process when applying makeup for events/shoots especially when they have to last for hours, like I'm sure he spent a lot longer than 6 minutes doin her makeup for the MET Gala--their end result is very different from current popular internet makeup style for sure though which isn't really about a natural look
