I discovered ASMR when it was fairly new on KZbin back in 2013ish. I was struggling with extreme anxiety to the point of having panic attacks at work out of nowhere, where I’d have to hide out in the restroom until they passed. I was looking for some kind of relief to help me sleep and was scrolling through meditation videos (which are also a big help) when an ASMR video popped up. I found that the gentle, soft speaking helped out a lot. Everyone has different preferences with ASMR-I love soft speaking, liquids, keyboard sounds, and personal attention-things like plucking motions and face brushing. But fast tapping, aggressive mouth/eating sounds, and squishing set my teeth on edge. Maria from Gentle Whispering ASMR, Allie from ASMR Requests, and Heather Feather were my introduction all those years ago. And while I don’t watch ASMR as much these days, Heather isn’t uploading anymore, and Allie has recently returned under a different handle, Maria remains my favorite. She was the first to reach 1M subs and remains the best imo. Some other good ones if anyone is looking are Latte ASMR (her artistry, set dressing, and production on their own is worth a watch), ASMR Glow, Gibi ASMR, and ASMR Jonie. Imo, Jonie is underrated. She is finally over 100K subs, and I’m seeing her videos pop up more in the KZbin algorithm, but she is such a hard worker-so consistent with her uploads and painstaking with her content that I don’t know why she isn’t more popular.

Saaaame I’ve been a huge ASMR user for a good 10 years now. If you like personal attention and soft speaking, TingTing and Ppomo are mind blowing (if you don’t know them already!). All the ones you listed are great too. ASMR has saved me from some horrible panic attacks. People laugh at it but it’s been like medicine for me over the years. My 10 year old son loves it too it really helps him relax .

Eating noises make me irrationally angry. In fact I don't even like to hear myself chewing so I turn the television or music up when I eat. My most favorite ASMR is writing on paper / drawing videos with no talking. Ive enjoyed watching other people draw since I was little and always just thought I was a weirdo until I learned what ASMR was. Any kind of mouth noise makes me feel REALLY sick. I accidently started watching one with this young girl eating raw honey. Her smacky, clicky saliva sounds put my teeth on edge, and I genuinely felt unwell. Also, one single person clapping, people whistling, that sort of thing. It's called misophonia. The struggle is real!

I can’t stand seeing or listening to people eating. It makes me feel sick. I’m a visual relaxation person really and enjoy falling asleep to window cleaner, power washer, and carpet cleaner videos. I guess the continuous motions are soothing. I really enjoyed the kinetic sand part of this video and the slime looked relaxing but when James couldn’t get it off of his hands it made me feel anxious. i LOVE asmr bc it helps me sleep, but i only like specific kinds. i generally search for "no talking" asmr bc i hate wet mouth sounds so much. tbh i don't always mind talking bc it can be relaxing, but it can't be one of those people with Wet Mouth, always smacking their lips and shit. like i said, i hate wet mouth sounds. but i really love asmr that's just sounds (like tapping), and thankfully there are plenty. one of my favorite asmrists is "Coromo Sara.
