Thank you for sharing. This is when Las Vegas was elegant and classy. Not the trashy place full of drunks it is today.

Thank you - it makes sense now that Johnny Ray would be shown - he was smoking hot career-wise in 1956, not so much in the 1960s. WTG

@@52lvlv You are correct about newer models sold in the fall season but later in the video The Mint hotel is seen (downtown) brand new. Opened in summer of 1957

@@JoshMaxPower exactly…JR did have a good album cut at the DI @1960. Bobby Darin’s from 71 is amazing, especially when you know the back stories about Darin at that time.

Vegas is so different today with all it's huge casinos. It would be interesting to see what Vegas looks like in 50 years from now. There will probably be flying saucers instead of cars going down the Vegas strip.

Those days are gone. Show girls have been reduced to being naked on the strip asking for $5 photos. Jubilee and Follies were actually very good shows.

love how they make you think "Movie Stars" are at poolside. They had their own private pools, and room, restaurants....

It seems they were more accessible back then. Look up Paradise Palms. There were several celebrities living there. No gates, guards and easy to find, right next to the only mall back then

B4 the mob really took over. It was legit vacationing resorts filled with celebrities. But today, now since the pandemic outbreak, it has become increasingly more about the gaming numbers. Very much expensive and not quite as safe. God watch over us here in Las Vegas.

The mob that took it over were called accountants. They would charge you for the air you breach. I gave up when they started charging resort fees. Even places without swimming pools are now charging resort fees. The thieves.

@@CommanderLongJohn Ironic you bring up the Mafia. I am presently watching a rerun of a TV series back in the 80's entitled Crime Story, about a Chicago thug you joined forces with the mafia and union to infiltrate Las Vegas. I highly recommend it.
