Love this game. 1. You need to be researching 100% of the time early game. There are too many things to unlock asap. 2. go to the mining areas (copper, tin) and there are pieces lying on the ground to pick up to get started on upgrades 3. build a Bloomery to smelt the ores 4. until you have 4-5+ people I would advise against job duty assignments. Leave them all on 5 so they will get stuff done. There are more tasks than people so prioritization is tough. 5. the bandit settlements have stars under them. That is how tough they are. With a bow, and club for backup, you should easily be able to take out the three bandits on a 1-star. I bought and played this game first time you did cuz of you and I started again now cuz of you. Keep it up!

In my experience, most of the time bandit camps are automatically conquered once all bandits there have been defeated. This might depend on a camp having roving bandits out and about. I also had a camp not being conquerable at all (flag said to kill all guards but there was no bandit around for miles). Might have to do with a quest later though. Anyway, the brigands will frequently send out groups that give a ton of renown that you have to kill regardless and later bandit camps will respawn. Renown is very easy to get later in the game and not a bottleneck in my experience.

IMO Lucien was a better choice overall than Viktor. Lucien had higher end numbers with only one area being a 4; since they get assigned multiple roles I think I would have taken Lucien instead. But... You were looking for a crafter mainly and in that case Viktor is better for that. Now that I think of it maybe I keep Viktor, drop Justina with her sad stats (Yeah she is super happy but you got to go!) and then get Lucien also. Now I have 3 people with overall good stats.

You can put meat or mushrooms on the sticks and while you don't cook them they stay fresh forever, it is good to keep even almost spoiled food fresh for later. Back to your question, if you expel a villager you will get full refund of renown as well the next hiring is cheaper because of that.

1. The guy who sells straps, ALSO buys wood, and he just happens to live right next to a stand of young trees and saplings, go there, collect wood, sell wood, buy strap. And yes it is one per game day 2. To the south east of your camp there is a lake surrounded by river reeds, on the eastern edge there is another guy who buys wood and sells a strap per day (2 free straps per day)(easy when you put fast travel points in to bounce back and forward. 3. the renown loss for dismissing grunts is negligible, I have never really looked into how it affects the cost of your next "hiring", but I should imagine that it is set in the game engine based on the number of people you have hired. ALSO worth noting is that if you give those 'grunts' the crappy books to read whilst they are about their duties, when you dismiss them, you will get back more renown than you paid for them. 4. Talking of river reeds, don't waste yours or your minions time collecting them in summer, you can collect them as a group during the winter (or at night when they are supposed to be sleeping.) The reeds are one of the few things that can be collected in winter, so wait until they go to bed, make a party, run them down to a reed patch and tell them all to fill their inventories with reeds whilst you do the same. When all inventories are full, march them back to camp and disband the group, they will go back to bed. (if you want to be more efficient with it, before you disband instruct the group to interact with the storage area and they will deposit all the reeds) 5. There is a mod that removes the renown cost from fast travel. 6. A little cheesy but you can take out the bandit camps solo by triggering them and then running back to a wall and keep hopping the wall to get away, they won't jump it they go around hope some of that helps :D

Having a couple of junk people is actually okay. When the village gets bigger they can be your dedicated delivery workers. The better workers can then concentrate on areas they excel at without wasting time doing deliveries.

1 tent can host 2 people, so with 3 tents you can already invite a total of 6 people, which is already a lot so far early in the game... Also better to do the easy quest to improve renoen and trust so you can hire better villager, which is a good thing on the long run...

there should be a way to check townsfolk Attributes and Traits in the menu. it would make life easier in determining where to put people. take note during raids in towns, if you kill a bandit you can loot them but only if you killed them.

Hey Kage, love you videos. I CANT SAY THIS ENOUGH TIMES BUT PLEASE DONT BE OFFENDED WHEN YOU READ THIS COMMENT. Just recently started watching you(mainly because of bellwright) so dont take this as offensive when i say that you play bellwright as if you have never played survival games before. Dont take this wrong way i still like you videos but i cant even watch a 30 min video in one sitting cuz it makes me furious when you dont see the obvious little things in game. And you have played this exact same game before for like 26 or some videos. Even if you dont remember stuff from your old playthrough, you should still have your experience as a gamer from all the years and games you have played.
