@@darrenjones1413nah it's not that rare mate I've seen a few guys that were not affected by gas usually in my time in the forces if guys were not affected all the staff done was light a few more c.s pellets and after that they were choking just like the rest of us it just takes a little more gas 😂 I went on to do the advanced n.b.c course once I got to my unit and that was torture we had to remove the respirator pass it off to the left and everyones mask was passed around in a circle then once you got the mask back you had to put it back on but during the process your eyes had to be closed so this gave the instructors a chance to fill the inside of the mask with Fuller's earth so when you put the respirator back on you would choke and panic not thinking you would rip off the mask and choke 😂 I actually enjoyed it it was a good course I imagine it doesn't happen these days due to all the health and safety crap I actually witnessed a p.t.i giving recruits the option of doing heartbreak hill in my day you had no choice you were up and down it all the time recruits have died on it .

@cliffbird50163 жыл бұрын
royal marine training is a lot harder than this. if u get into the marines u have to go through a selection process to be able to get into the commandos. Royal marines appear to be royal navy but r army units on loan to the navy but special training to be able to do amphbious landings Best option is royal artillery and try and get into 29 commando regiment royal artillery. if they r still around that is. its a royal artillery regiment with commando training. If my battery was still around u could of tried to get into that but thats the hardest unit in the world to get into as they did commando and para training. It was the only unit that we knew of that had red and green berries. but not allowed to wear either of them unless on a combat mission away from other units. Even the CO of the regiment didnt know what my battery did or that we had the training we had. We got disbannded after the falklands war due to losing 90% of the unit in the falklands. half lost at port stanley the other half on the arctic conveyor. we dropped into port stanley airport to cature it with half r guns with SAS and paras as we were supporting them. the plan was to capture it then bring the rest in by helo then move on port stanley and capture the port so the taskforce could land there instead of san carlos. But we landed in a minefield and lost all r guns and pounded by atrillery which we were told the argies didnt have by the bloody yanks who gave us false intel and US marines aiding the argies. and i was only 1 of 10 that survived out of the 100 that went in.

thats nothing compared to 1980 we had say our name RNK and number in the normal way and in reverse order we also had to get our bio clothes on while in the chamber and had to act as though we was in a nuclear attack etc, and all of us who passed first time and quick had to go again and answer questions so that we got the full effect and to make sure we was doing it correctly and that our first efforts weren't flukes, and we still passed with ease, it seems to have got a bit easier over the years though, but its a crucial part of training and during you army career and you will never forget how to do it in an emergency, fair play to the lads in the video a very good effort

After I did my NBC (now CBRN I think) instructors course I was immune to CS gas. It just used to make my eyes water a bit. How did you get away with not going in the chambers for that long? It used to be an annual requirement.

Wish I could do it again and try the new kit. He didn't feature overboots, are they any different now. I think I've still got untouched air tight NBC kit in my MFO box. One day I'll donate it to the museum! Happy days "Swift and Bold" 😁

I'm an ex Fusilier one of the lads in my unit was immune to the gas he could take his mask off and read a book and it would have no effect. It used to piss the rest of us off no end.
