Hey prisha as long as I know about this the chapter name is rectification of error then we can rectify it any way the only thing is that balance should match in this question after selling machinery he gain rupees 1700 but by mistake we wrote 7100 in sales book (Sohan gains rs7100 on selling of old machinery ) we know that it is single sided error so incorrect entry is Cash a/c dr 1700 To sales a/c 7100 So according to this it is very clear that the entry of credit side is saying that Sohan gained rs7100 (debit what comes in - Sohan a/c dr 7100)but the reality is that he gained only 1700 than the entry should be Sohan a/c dr 1700 so to reverse this we wrote it in this way (to Sohan a/c 5400)

sir, for the question- A credit sale of old machinery to Sohan for Rs. 1,700 was entered in the Sale Book for Rs. 7,100. the entry-according to the fact that only sales must be changed- Sales dr 7100 To Machinery 1,700 To suspense 5,400. But according to the ts grewal book, it is sales dr 7,100 To machinery 1,700 To sohan 5,400 could you please solve this doubt
