Thanks for posting this! I just bought a trike and was curious how I can load it independently. I also use a scooter for mobility. This style lift will load both!!

We are in the process of purchasing a Pacifica van. That boom is what we need for our trikes.

These work great in a minivan. There is a used one near me for $300 on marketplace. So keep an eye out if you don’t want to pay $3000 for a new one.

What is that contraption and where can I get more information? Also, how large does the cargo portion of the SUV must be to accommodate this mechanism?

I have the short wheelbase Ford Expedition and my cargo area isn’t as big as a minivan. Officially Bruno stated it will not fit into an Expedition. That is because of a removable cargo floor panel that covers the jack tools. I bolted it to the body and the picked up an extra junk yard jack cover panel and trimmed it to fit around the lift. Most suv and minivan with open flat floor this will not be necessary.

@@kevingiltner4351 thank you Kevin. For now two light aluminum wheel chair ramps allow me to roll my trike into my SUV. I suspect I might need a device like yours when I am no longer capable of rolling my trike into my vehicle.

This must be for some who cannot lift beyond a certain weight. I like it since I injured my shoulder. But I thing a truck is more useful,if you are going to use trikes. Great system but I’m sure it’s expensive and limits SUV seating/cargo capacity.

I’ve had 3 spine surgeries & have Spinal Stenosis, muscle atrophy, & neuropathy. I can’t lift anything and I began falling trying to load with ramps. In my area things get stolen out of an open truck, they carry cordless angle grinders to cut cables. The right model lift doesn’t impede the 3rd row seat when not hauling the trike. This older lift, the arm doesn’t fold down so it doesn’t block the smaller half of the third seat from folding up fully. I’ve still recently been able to haul home a large recliner and there’s two twin XL mattress in this truck now waiting for my step son to unload. I bought this lift for $50 at a used furniture store. New they are $3,000+, but used anywhere from $150-1,000. After getting this my sister now uses a mobility scooter and it’s been a blessing. My Spinal Stenosis is progressing and I sold my trike a couple months ago.

Kevin - did you have to modify the trike to attach the lifting strap? (cant see how the lift strap is attaching to arm)

I had planned to fabricate some type of bracket onto each side of the seat frame. I picked up a couple junk yard seat belts and thought of modifying some side bags to use the same buckle. But for simply testing the lift for the first time, I ran a ratchet strap through the end of the lift and hooked each end to the seat frame. On this TerraTrike there was a spot on each side that was open in the seat mesh exposing the frame. By coincidence lifting it here was evenly balanced and worked so good, I never got around to making another way to connect.

I must be strong at 70 I lift my catrike trail @37 pounds into my large suv cx9 Mazda nose first ( always lift with your legs)- I’m glad I do weight lifting yoga Pilates spin biking - 😎
