How can i calculate the drift of cells in a solution?

if you have a video of cells and if you can identify a "dead" cell, you can track its movement to determine the drift. Yet if you only have alive cells, you can track all of them and by assuming they are all moving randomly (apart from the drift) their average center of mass movement can be considered as drag

I do have a video, in which the bottom cells which are directly in contact with the bottom of the slit are stationary, and the cells which are slightly above from the bottom are drifting for a while. All the cells are moving in the same direction. And all those cells are dead RBCs
