Red Alert 2: [YR] - Testing Chrono Legionnaire

"Never existed"
Chrono Legionnaire are very unique units not just in the Red Alert but generally in any RTS game. They are available to all the Allied factions and along with the commandos they are the most expensive infantry units in the game.
They have a very different role than any other unit in the game and despite their expensive cost they sometimes can prove worse than the weakest unit in the game. However, it all depends in the situation and they can prove the most valuable unit in the game.
Chrono Legionnaire have basically low health and can be killed very quickly. They are also not good against mass groups of enemies. Their tactic is more of surprise attacks than can penetrate enemy holes in bases and start disappearing thing without enemy noticing anything.
Any unit or structure that is attacked by Chrono Legionnaires is temporary immune to any external damage until it is erased or canceled by Chrono Legionnaire. Also it's completely frozen, it can not attack, move or do anything else. Same applies for any structure that is attacked by a Chrono Legionnaire. It can no longer provide anything that it did before.
If Chrono Legionnaire attacks first it can basically win any combat in a 1v1 fight.
Things we learned about Chrono Legionnaire in these tests.
• Chrono Legionnaire take the same amount of time to recover after moving to any distance in any promotion. Veteran or Elite Ranks do not recover any faster.
• There seems to be no limit to multiple Chrono Legionnaires attacking the same target. The more attack the faster the target gets erased.
• Health is what determines how fast the unit will be erased.
• Only original health is taken into account. If the target has half of it's health left it will still take the same amount of time.
• Chrono Legionnaires get promoted even after killing ally units.
• Basic and Veteran levels have no difference in erasing units . Only Elite rank erases units faster.
• Enemy promotions make no difference for Chrono Legionnaires. They will still erase them in the same time as if they were in basic level.

Actually, the irony with Yuri Prime is that they're not the Yuri we see in FMV sequences during campaign gameplay; rather the Prime *believes* he's the original, "real-deal"., but is decidedly not. Especially funny when you have Cloning Vats and two Primes come out (one out of the Barracks and one from the CV), exclaiming "there is only one true Yuri". The logic here is that Prime is a much more perfect copy of the original than regular Yuri Clones, resulting in his ability to command entire buildings as well as single units.

As a matter of fact, that's what you had to do in the final mission of Red Alert 2 for the Allies. I don't think you even have a radar yet and the Soviets launch a nuclear missile at you, so you sacrifice your Chronos to protect your power plants, war factory, barracks, etc to prevent yourself from falling behind.

For a nuclear weapon, I can see how it works - the phasing will shield the buildings from the damage, so that only the chrono legionnaires will be killed by the nuke. SInce the nuke is two stages of damage - the blast, and then the radiation - the buildings will only suffer the second, lesser effect of radiation. Psychic dominator will be a bit harder, assuming the legionnaires are mind controlled. Just gotta keep some units ready to kill a controlled legionnaire

Though the Legionnaires are an awesome concept, the logic doesn't make any sense. If the Legionnaire kills enemies by erasing them from time, how does that not cause a huge butterfly effect? Hell, wouldn't erasing a Construction Yard erase the entire base? This whole series is basically a metaphor to why you shouldn't fuck with the timeline, and this unit just flips that table.

A Battle Fortress loaded with Chrono Legionnaires is not an effective weapon because it is expensive, cannot hit air, and negates the occupants' teleportation. The best combination is still a mix of GIs, GGIs, and maybe a Navy Seal.

@@karlschipul9753 Good Yuri players rarely ever build Yuri Clones, their army consists of Gattling Tanks, Magnetrons, Masterminds, and Floating Discs. If there are Yuri clones on the field, their mind control has a range of 7. Navy Seal inside a Battle Fortress has 8 range (Battle Fortress gives its occupants +2 range) and its rate of fire is enough to kill all infantry quickly. This is before considering that the Allied player will have Prism Tanks which also make mincemeat out of infantry. The rest of the slots should be firepower to kill vehicles which are the actual threat.

Actually everything is messed up. The whole situation is misleading. Nothing is loading, everything stops and in the end when you cancel your Chrono you still are stucked and can't cancel or build, so don't try it out.

Ideally, it would take approximately the same amount of time. The only real difference is that if you chrono for long distances, then he's a sitting duck for as long as it takes for him to fissure back into time. Still a great test idea, though.
