This is a single entry from the exhibit "Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts." The 651 quilts are in the private collection of Mrs. Joanna S. Rose. The exhibit was sponsored by her husband Daniel Rose in honor of her 80th birthday. The American Folk Art Museum made the presentation at The Park Avenue Armory in New York City March 25-30, 2011
This entry is a compilation of freeze frames from a video. There is a brief overview of the quilt to give a sense of its size and style. That is followed by individual shots of the blocks that were made by various contributors. It contains references to The Newburgh Chapter (NY) of The American Red Cross and also the Hudson Valley Day Line Auxiliary. The date is embroidered as 1918. There are many references to World War I phrases such as "Over There."
The sound track contains three cuts from the album "The Crystal Spring" by harpist Ray Pool www.raypool.com
