This makes me want to get up and 'cut - a - rug. I used to dance to this kind of music when I was younger. My Family would get together from time to time and they'd play guitars, (lead and rhythm), steel guitars, Daddy play his fiddle, and we'd roll back the rug and dance and have a great ole hoedown on a Saturday night! No drinking or fighting! Just a grand ole time. And they even let me sing a song or two then. Sure do miss it! Thanks for sharing your talents and for the memories! ☺ Ann

Those were some good times Rikky. We never rehearsed anything..someone would just start playing or singing, and what ever got recorded got uploaded...lol...don't know if that's the BEST way, but it's the most fun way..

MissPickletoes We love it when you lurk around here...so great to see ya. I think about you often and wonder how you and if Ol' Val is still performing. Earl "The Bluegrass Cat" (20 some years old) passed away in May. He is so much missed and was so much loved and loving...big empty space in my life now. I couldn't bring myself to say anything about on the tube , so you're the only one I've told. Jim Marshall is not doing well....so no one in the mood to pick...Drop in again soon...Ron

Hi Ron, you guys did an outstanding job on this one. Great performance, the fiddle man is a knocked out dude and the young man on the mandolin played great rhythm and excellent lead work. He reminds me of Jethro Burns. He incorporates a little jazz into his pickin'. Jethro was part of the Million Dollar Band on Hee Haw with Chet, Floyd Crammer, Boots Randolph and Charlie McCoy. Ron, your great rhythm guitar holds everybody together. Sounds good. God Bless.....Ole Rog & Betty

Hey Ron, long time no hear or see. I happened to be watching some Leroy Troy whom I've never heard of before but well impressed me. Then I remembered my trips to *your garage* and all your foot tapping renditions. Very sad to hear of your losses mate. I spent many nights chronologically working my way through your videos, sharing them with other Utoob friends and playing them again and again. That was in my discovery of Bluegrass days and when KZbin was much more related to social ways between folk. Anyhow to cut to the chase, thanks for all the exhilarating music ya munkey in them mountains.

Earl made it way past 20 and was blind his last few years and had to be helped everywhere the last few weeks of life. I would have paid any amount to have his vision restored, but they said he was to old for surgery...still love him and miss him everyday as you will someday miss Sheila..Stay well my friend..
