I heard even in modern russia..they are pissed cause the main team takes all the good players . Kinda like if the dream team was literally on the same team. But the other big cities in Russia kinda wish they had a somewhat balanced League like the NHl. Besides $$ that is the other big reason many still play here

No they do not win here, when the Red Army played NHL teams they were ALWAYS bolstered by star players from other Soviet teams. Montreal never had star players from other teams added to their roster when playing Russian teams .

In the 1989/90 and 1990/91 super series, Soviet clubs played with their squads without reinforcements. 09/18/1990 CSKA beat the Montreal Canadiens with a score of 3:2 without reinforcement by players from other clubs. Before this, CSKA was strengthened by only 2-3 players, this is not much, they could not seriously influence the result of the match, and not all of them were playing in the USSR national team at the time of the meeting and they cannot be called stars. Thus, even if we discard all the results of the meeting with the strengthening of CSKA, the Montreal Canadiens still won.
