Anyway, whenever I listen to this song, I get that fuzzy feeling in the top of my head, the feeling of pride, and I just feel great. I love the Red Army Choir! you know that wasn't Voroshilov's hand that waved with handkerchief? And, if you speak Russian, you realize it wasn't a handkerchief at all? Somewhat it is hard to imagine a Commander or even a simple soldier waving with anything, let alone the "handkerchief". That is some random hand that waves to the Blue Don, because the echelons are moving away from there. The Commanders don't usually wave handkerchiefs to anyone, right?

This angers me because more people were lost in the Soviet Union than in the Holocaust, and we watch videos about that every year, but not two sentences are uttered about the massive amounts of people murdered by Germany in Russia. P.S. I do appreciate all of these videos you post, it helps me get a feel of what my relatives went through.

+Fenriz the Jester I like the USSR. I am happy and proud to have been born in this country, but ... Many Bolsheviks predicted that build communism in one country is impossible, because there will inevitably apparatus of violence, which would discredit the communist system. We must take power immediately worldwide. I think that there should't be separate parties in different countries. It is necessary to restore the Comintern. We must not repeat the mistakes of the CP SU. Foreign comrades are obliged to openly and honestly criticize the modern communist movement in Russia. Unfortunately, many leaders of the Russian Communists too well settled under the current regime, and their brains are covered with fat bourgeois.

The wheels pounding, the valve gear working, the steam pushing pistons, engineer with cocky moustache and crossed hammer and wrench - the symbol of soviet railwaymen - on his hat, with his hand on the throttle leaning through the footplate window, the soldiers hanging from the boxcars, waving red handkerchiefs as the train flies through the station, the stationmaster in his duty uniform and red peaked cap saluting, and people waving, signals clear all the way, to victory of the Revolution!

Vladimir Babic Echelon after echelon, Echelon after echelon: The road is wide. The commander gave the order - and off we go! His hand waves with a white handkerchief to the blue Don. Camp life made us friends with you, Voroshilov, We rushed together into the battle: The enemy recalls with anguish The Battle for Belaya Kalitva, The Battle for Kalach Station. For Tsaritsyn, for Tsaritsyn Day and night we'll be fighting, Crossing pikes with pikes And the rain doesn't wash away on the mound and in the wolf pit, the blood of the workers and peasants The commander gave the order - and off we go! His hand waves with a white handkerchief to the blue Don. Echelon after echelon Echelon after echelon: The road is wide.

I like the USSR.

+Андрей Соколов socialism in one country became a necessity because of the betrayal bolsheviks and communism in general suffered by the hands of the working classes of the west. you should read about how the second international came crashing down because of how workers of the west showed a great enthusiasm for fighting for their national bourgeoisie and their imperialist systems that allowed them to have a greater standard of living compared to the poor people of the exploited countries. this is why, aside from german workers as germany had no significant colonies to exploit and distribute imperialist superprofits to its workers, there were no radical worker s movement in the west since late 19th century and probably never will be.

I think people miss that some parts of the current capitalist dominated system are good. I would absolutely be in favor of a constitution that would keep socialist values intact compared to a vanguard party. The reason the other socialist movements were against the Bolsheviks was because of the unlikely nature of revolution in their own countries. The Germans did have a socialist revolution remember, but the western nations allowed the army to stream back into Germany still armed. And in Britain labor had already seemed to have won and improved situations for the workers, to which i agree many of them settled comfortably under bourgeois protection. In america there was no chance of socialist revolution, the powerful corporations did everything in their power to keep the workers from organizing even carpet bombing strikers. Lenin was not exactly the best guy because he set up the state to become a tool for stalins disgusting bonapartist betrayal of the revolution, which has permanently tarred the reputation of an other-wise very convincing ideology and through his invention of "Marxist-Leninism" brought Lenin along with him.

@myersde91 Also despite free health care (well almost) pretty much most hospitals weren't as well equipped as in the west. Most medical equipment was 10 to sometimes 20 years old compared to what you'd find in the western hospitals. There was also severe shortage of medical supplies on account of majority of it being stock piled for the army and well for preparation for another large scale war.
