How did you get the red color please?

It's part of the male feather colouration, which only they have- it's a display of sexual maturity. Females do not have the red front or crest

​@@chiaracabala linnets will not colour up like that in captivity as any bird keeper will tell you so I guess this bird has not log been caught/ trapped.

@@billycrotty4102i know right, just like the purple and rose, house finch they don’t color up that red… i think it’s due to food wise, cause i have a pair of purple finch and house finch they don’t even get orange… their breast is yellowish to them.

Guys this linnet has born in captivity, he wears close type leg ring , so this is why he have red colour. Captivity is normal for him
