Red Bull Maldives Susi Mai Bungalow Jump

We were very proud here at Case Productions to have been called out to the Maldives to shoot a World of Red Bull commercial as part of the global advertising campaign. The winds however were not on our side. The upside is that we met kite legend Susi Mai, and we are now working on collaborating on a special video.

Wonderful sport. When she said she was used to waiting on the beach it reminded me of paragliding (or should I say parawaiting). Wonderful video.

That's me and my 2 friends (incl the one first ever Sri Lankan kiter chick) at 4.08 - my French friend and I lived and worked in Sri Lanka for over 2 years just after the war ended in 2009. It is a relatively clean country for a developing nation, where the average household income in rural areas is about 200$/ month. Those local boys (Ajmal and Mawfeel) are from the area and live at the lagoon, and thanks to the locally based instructors, these kids kite jump the concrete bridge that had collapsed there, -which was really cool to watch in 2011 Yeah so, the shits happened every now and then (as does it here in Oz), but not in the weekends when kiting - too much excitement - is going on. Us three would travel for 3.5 hours after work on a Friday, cramped up in the full Colombo commuter bus and tuktuk with our gear across our laps to reach this wonderful spacious flat warm water and constantly windy destination. It was really good to have this clinic with Susi Mai, she is tiny, like 50 kilo's, gracious, a female pro, thus an approachable rolemodel for girls contemplating to take up this extreme sport or just wanting to get really good at it.Thanks Red Bull!

I know this is probably bit of a "ewwwwww" kind of question here (apologies in advance on this one guys/gals) but I notice there are a lot of videos on KZbin with Westerners - mainly young folk going to all these lovely out of the way places...to do/film things like this...but they also happen to be in 3rd world countries where health is not brilliant - so how come nobody ever seems to admit that they are suffering from ermmm how to put this politely....erm - the shits???? :/

There aren't good kiteboarding/snowboarding etc. GIRLS! Even the most famous (i don;'t want to use word 'best') of them are weaker than the weakest MAN (who is taking part in competitions). The man on same level as Susi wouldn't even think of being 'pro'.

Everybody has its own reason for doing what they do... I don ´ t care if she is a good kiteboarder, who says life is fair and we all get what we deserve? But rather then loose my time hating I wish to have more opportunities to do this sport myself. And as I dont live in the country having a sea,It will simply take a hell of an effort to nake this true, or I dye trying and dreaming...

There are several very good snowboarding/kiteboarding girls ! Look at Bruna Kayiya and Karolina Winkowska for example... But you are right about Susi; a guy with her level of kiteboarding would definately not be a 'pro'.

What a load of rubbish, even the FAKE section at 2:50 is cringe worthy. She's pretty I suppose so keep her for the magazines and advertising. As a radical rider she's about the same level my daughter was when she was 11. She's saying only the muscle bound guys are hard-core, what she should say is, I'm not.
