I had a crazy accident on a bike once. Not this bad but I was hit by a van while flying downhill on a bike. I got up and walked away with some minor cuts and scraps. Two weeks later, the I was unable to walk. I was bedridden for six months. Apparently the accident impact destroyed my cartilage in the hip I landed on. It took some time for the cartilage to dissolve and go away. It took six months to recover and then 20 years later I need the hip to be replaced. My point is sometimes you can have accidents that you can walk away from, but at some point you may find you have delayed injuries.

We watch a sport like this because we get excited watching the extreme risks that these guys take, I know that I would never do anything like this and that is why I watch these guys in awe and it is a sad truth that crashing is part of the game in a sport like this and while it is not funny it is a major part of there sport and not showing it would do a disservice to all of the athletes who take part in it as it demonstrates the courage of these athletes.
