Bah, I'll give y'all better tutorial. Step 1: Purchase moonshack. Personally I like Big Valley one because it's very close to Manzanita Post hence fast travel is available. Step 2: Do bootlegger missions until your mash price reaches $10, if there's no bootlegger available (it's some 20 minutes cooldown) do story mission or go for legendary bounty in the meantime. Step 3: ALWAYS make flavoured moonshine, doesn't matter what flavour really, but adding it at all gives you additional experience. Step 4: During delivery, don't shoot at revenuers blockade first, they often let you pass peacefully and then won't chase you so you won't lose your stock. Step 5: Purchase distillers upgrade as soon as you can, with medium moonshine it actually starts to pay off, with strong moonshine it's a very nice profit margin. Once you reach 19 or 20 rank you also wait less (48 minutes for strong moonshine). Step 6: Purchase this best roadster tricolor horse because it's the best racing horse in the game currently. Additional info: you can either have Collector's compass by your belt or Moonshiner flask. There can be only one, so choose wisely. Thank me later. Edit: And a protip, you can leech experience from someone's posse if you're lazy but it takes more time and you get paid like $10 Edit 2: I forgot to mention, that there's an AUTO-PILOT though I'm not sure if it works on other platforms than PC. Basically press SHIFT as if you want to gallop, then take aim with any weapon you have and wagon will drive itself almost flawlessly. KNOWN ISSUES: crossing river, going uphill, going through bridges and path disappearing on the compass sometimes results in horses going crazy and losing a bottle. Other than that it's a must use.

good point with no. 4, I don't know if this changes a lot at later levels, but right now, I've rarely had any confrontations with revenuers ... they'll let you go peacefully a lot of the time, and sometimes they won't have any problems even after inspecting your stuff (which doesn't really make sense, but w/e).

Moonshiner and delivery missions are nice compared other missions where you have to stretch out the time to make more gold and money. I hate capturing bounties really quickly and then realizing I’m going to have to sit outside the station idle for a couple minutes before turning the bounty in if I want to get any actual worth while gold from a bounty. At least with delivery missions you get paid a fixed amount. Speed run a $$$ bounty and you get like .08 gold and $20. Wait a few minutes for the same bounty and you get paid 0.32 gold and $40. I hate that that’s even the case.

The best way to deal with the enemies when selling moonshine is to stop and exit the wagon before getting to the blockades, kill all the enemies and then get in the wagon and continue driving. This helps keep them from damaging the moonshine

Get off the wagon before you activate the roadblock. Park it out of the way, seek cover and mow down the roadblock with your weapon of choice. It helps to have a friend to follow along in a wagon to be used as cover when necessary, especially in areas of sparse trees/cover.

There you'll find an array of categories you can earn awards for (think achievement kinda stuff, like sell 100 herbs to a doctor). Once you've completed one, you can reset it for .4 gold up to ten times.

Just a quick piece of advice for now, the moonshiner role can also be unlocked via 5 gold bars to skip the trader requirement. So in total you would be spending around 30 gold bars with shack included. As opposed to paying another 15 gold for the trader role. Happy moon shining

TheBeaver50 just move your camp to cholla springs about 2 weeks ago I was a level 6 trader and I've maxed it out. Get a posse of 4 for resupply mission because every bag is 500 xp. Also if you get the wolfs all of them are 3 star so ur posse can take them to camp then go back for the bags. Hope this helps it really helps get xp as I've already maxed out my outlaw pass.

Im only 2 minutes in so idk if he mentioned this but another bonus tip If you talk to the French moonshine chef and just stay on that menu, you will never idle out of the game. You can turn your controller off and go watch videos or go out and get food or whatever else you wanna do to pass time and come back when the shine is done and keep selling it. I've literally done this all day at times not even really playing the game but just having it on for this purpose and jumping back on when its time to deliver, sell it, go back to start the next batch rinse and repeat. Theres a double money bonus this week so I've been essentially making 450 dollars every 50 minutes and I went from 5000 dollars to 19000 in a week of doing this. The game is basically working for me and I may never have to worry about being broke on here ever again lol

Another tip: Barry cobbler is the easiest to make and second most profitable. There are raspberry bushes right outside the big valley shack location and a few yards west of valentine and the other two ingredients can be bought and maxed out at the store

So for the bootleg missions to get 20 of 20 bottles to the client is easy. Just go in cinematic mode and drive it will not damage the goods. Always stop for the roadblock unless they say keep riding. 50/50 they check the wagen and let you go, or they find moonshine and start shooting. When they start shooting just jump of wagen and fight them by running away from the wagen. This way they wont damage the wagen and your goods are good. They will hunt you after a fight so you can keep aiming behind you to shoot the enemies and the horse will auto ride to the destination. 20 Bottles delivered.

I know this is old, but I’m sure people still watch it as the role hasn’t changed. So I want to add a couple of things. First, as far as buyers go, you do not have to flavor your moonshine immediately. If the buyer list is going to change before your moonshine is complete, you can flavor it after the buyer changes. Once it’s done distilling you can’t change it. Secondly, the bar does have a useful purpose even if you don’t plan to ever sell moonshine. Aside from the daily challenges, any moonshine that is distilled or distilling you can drink from your bar. Some of the special moonshines give very good bonuses so it’s like having free potions at your disposal. There is also coffee and almonds ready to go for a quick pick me up. The bar is not necessary but it does have some useful purposes. The decor doesn’t matter though and aside from fun and some daily challenges, the band serves no other purposes. Regardless of how you feel about roles, Moonshiners delivered the biggest role in terms of usefulness, fun, and money making. No, you won’t make gold but as a passive business and property it’s better than any other role.

you can actually skip the trader role step in getting the moonshiner role by paying a 5 gold bar fee on the moonshiner tab in the roles section in the progress tab if you don’t already have the trader or moonshiner role. so if you are only getting the trader role to get the moonshiner role you can save 10 gold bars by doing so.

I literally saved up 25 gold bars in 2 days of playing with no streak, just doing dailies and bounties (granted you need to have bounty hunter unlocked, or join someone who has). Having people work a little bit to get their businesses is GOOD. It's actually better in RDR than in GTA, even with no bounty hunter you'll still get 25g faster as a new player in RDR than you'd have in GTA. Imagine how long it takes to save up 1-2 million dollars in that game for a new player, it's MUCH worse. TL;DR: Stop complaining, it's not bad.

I have tried multiple times to have my game on Cinema View and deliver the moonshine, and I was able to pass the agents with no problem all those times that I have used Cinema View. Also, it doesn't damage the moonshine, because the character drive properly in the Cinema View, unless if you speed up which can cause a bit of damage but not as much as while you're driving. However, before you arrive to your destination you need to check the map because you might keep driving and the character will pass the delivery address as the road continues

Everytime i start my moonshine, ill pick the $247 buyer and almost every time the buyer reset happens and every time its always buyers that pay $97 or $144 if im lucky. Im making strong shine now and lvl 11 and i dont see this role getting any better. For me the only good thing about it is the story missions.

TIP TO ANYONE NEW TO THE GAME. You can unlock the moonshiner without having the trader (you still need to pay the 25gold). All you need is a friend that has the trader role. Join their posse and play with them until they reach rank 5 and you should both unlock the moonshiner. Saves spending 25gold on the trader... unless you want the trader role.

The easiest way to deal with a roadblock is the park your wagon before you get to the red circle get out shoot all the guys then get back in and drive through it no damage taken to the wagon takes a little bit of time but not a lot you still have enough time to loot the bodies and get to the destination with minimal delay

The role is fine but not great. I like that the role has three different mission types instead of just one or two. I used my free mash refill ticket then during my first delivery, the horse swerved off the trail and down a mountainside, destroying the wagon. Unlike the trader role when a delivery gets stolen or destroyed and you just have to restart the delivery without any lost resources, if the moonshine gets destroyed it's start from scratch. In my opinion, that is broken and should be the same as the trader. Thanks for this guide though, it's given me hope that I can make it thru a delivery without a total loss.

There's 3 different outcomes if you stop at a blockade. 2 of those outcomes are positive, which means you have a 66% chance to go through the blockade untouched. Plowing through the blockade without stopping GUARANTEES they will shoot at you and follow you.
