CPU at 3.7GHz, without turbo boost. It can run up to 4.3 in stock. And even at 3.7 it heats 80C+. You need to change your cooler and turn on TB. It's increase perfomance to 30%

Hey there, I was using intel stock cooler and i tried OC at 4.7 with this cpu in a few videos later and the temps were even higher, which is obvious. I ended up upgrading to a 13700K and an AIO cooler. Thanks for your comment!

​@@BenchmarkDude For stock cooler oc is unacceptable. Better to do is undervolt on stock 4.3 - minus 50-100mV will reduce heat, and there will be no throttling. P.S. Congrats you new buy!

Thanks for the video! I'm planning on upgrading to ultrawide and buy a 7900xt and wanted to see how my 8700k will be holding up. As the 7900xt is slower than your 4090, I should be more than fine regarding a potential bottleneck. Thanks man 😊

8700(non k) + 3080ti (rog strix) + 32gb (3330) + 2k (3440х1440) + same graphics settings = almost the same fps ( -10% +\- ) Why? ) Maybe 8700 is a weak point?

I'm pretty sure you would experience bottleneck with I7 8700K and 4080 in 4K, but I think you would still be able to enjoy gaming, at least from videos I've seen with those specs.

Hey, thanks for uploading! I'm running a RTX 4070 Ti paired with an I7-8700k and 16gb of ram, playing at 1440p. Unfortunately my game is constantly stuttering, which I can also see from my frametime graph, which is pretty spiky. Am I running into some kind of bottleneck? Pretty much nothing helps..

Hey, sorry for the late reply. You should be running the game without stutters but try to check if your RAM's are fine and I'd suggest for you to check all your BIOS settings to see if everything is okay. Also try to disable background apps that you don't need.

@@BenchmarkDudeyou really should OC the cpu and ram atleast. I have 8700k @5ghz 4.7 cache 3800 cl15 ram with a rtx 3080 160+ core 2700+ memory and optimized windows etc, this combo keeps up with todays high end builds and even beats allot of them that are not optimized or overclocked.

@@BenchmarkDude mine average around 65 but i have very good airflow and arctic liquid 280 II cooler at the front case with pull and push fans on both side of radiator and thermal grizzly paste

I was changed the BIOS settings for the CPU clock, otherwise I would have higher temperatures since I was using an intel stock cooler.

Thanks for the video! I have a similar build, with a 3070 which struggles a bit at 3840*1600 ultrawide, so I've been eyeing the 4090. Although I would recommend you get yourself a new cpu cooler asap.

@@jamierichards925 It will depend on your GPU as well. Since I bought my ultrawide, I never looked back even with this WQHD, it has been really good. 4K ultrawide is really demanding but you're fine with 3440x1440, it's an immersive experience. If you're into competitive FPS games, for example, counter-strike, ultrawide will be too much for you but otherwise, it's great. Be sure to watch some reviews and comparisons so you can decide what's best for you :)
