I've been playing through the game recently with a mix of medium/high settings, ultra textures, TAA locked to 30 FPS and I swear on the OLED screen it's one of the most beautiful looking things I've ever witnessed on a screen.

It is a standout game for the Steam Deck, one of my absolute favorite games of all time. The story is a masterpiece and should be experienced by as many as possible.

I've noticed it actually runs/looks better for me on TAA than FSR, on the game TAA only goes down to medium but you can write down low in the settings file and lock it once you get your ideal settings and i noticed a negligible performance gain (to me anyway) 30FPS lock on the deck moving to 40 at my leisure and the frametime doesn't jitter about at all including the heavy areas Great vid as always! i set mine to medium settings then set the texture to ultra and turn off FSR, 40 to 43fps

even on LCD set turn everything low ( game time 2 hours + ) Resolution scale - 1/2 watt 6 / watt 7 is still playable RED DEAD 2 - Platinum on the deck

@@Merhawk23 i use Lutris, for graphic setting basicly all lowest and Scale resolution is 1/2 .. didnt tweak anythig from the deck .. i have 40 hours on it so far didnt face any crash

What are the settings like at 30 fps btw. Doesn't seem worth it to use all low with balanced fsr to barely hit 40 imo

Real talk, how do the launchers work for games like RDR2 or GTA5? Can you play those games offline, or do you need to be connected to Wi-Fi at all times?

We install the launchers upon starting for the first time and it requests the login which saves permanently. Last time I tried offline, we needed a token online and then we can switch back to offline, but then there is the cade of our save games which usually upload on exit but can reupload when we go back online. If all that makes sense 😁
