3:29 that is a fantastic detail, see how John flinches towards his pistol when Landon says I can show you a few tricks? He thinks Landon is hostile from his passive-aggresive comments and demeanor. Then when Landon raises his hand over his pistol, John goes straight for his own pistol, then covers it up by placing that hand on his belt, bravo Rockstar.

it's amazing how well-written he is. Probably the only Rockstar character to be featured as a protagonist in more than one game. The fact he (his voice actor) grew up not even an hour away from where I did drives it home even more. The man is easily up there in the top 3 greatest video game protagonists of all time.

John Marston and Arthur Morgan are BOTH loosely tied off of different personalities of Clint Eastwood western Characters. Both pull from the "Man with No Name", but also have other influences. Morgan's character is also influenced from High Plains Drifter, and The Outlaw Josey Wales. Marston from Pale Rider, and Two Mules for Sister Sarah.

John is such an amazing character. He is a foreigner in this country and does his absolute best to be polite, de-escalate the situation, he even offers up what little español he knows to try and show respect to these guys. And then they steal his hat so he kills them all. I aspire to be this much of a man some day.

John's face model in this game still looks really good. He looks real in some shots. RDR2 sort of has too much going on with ambient lighting and subsurface scattering and shit to where it often looks hyperreal, but just a well textured and rigged model really goes a long way when done right.

@@CorvoLegend1 My guy this is how you get it. To unlock the outfit one must go to the pause menu, scroll down to Social Club. Then click on the "Y" or "Triangle" button to "Sign In". If the player already has a Social Club account, he/she will be asked to sign into it. If not, a prompt to create a new one will appear. After the process is finished, then the Gentlemen's Attire will be in the outfit menu the next time the game is saved. The outfit will also be automatically unlocked for anyone who had linked their account before Redemption was released. So you can basically get it any point of the game.

I like how Landon just knows he’s a better shot than John. Just immediately tells him how it is, but also explains how his lifestyle left him to be the only one standing. Landon is the sad reality I bet Arthur and John would’ve become had they lived through TB and the US army respectively.

Given the context of RDR2 that we now have, it's more than a little ridiculous that Landon Ricketts is teaching the basics of shooting to a guy who accomplished everything in the American Venom solo. Then again, it was kinda stupid in the original game as well, given that John participates in quite a few shootouts against overwhelming odds with great success before he ever meets Ricketts.

John by the end of RDR1 is the finest gunslinger who ever lived, if not close second to Ricketts in his prime. He was better than Arthur because he was personally taught by Ricketts, a gunslinger legend + getting a feel for shooting again since RDR2, and also having more time to hone his skills than Arthur possibly did.

Definitely in my view, the most badass cutscene in the game. I love how he takes his hat back off the guy as he’s collapsing and dusts it off and puts it back on. Like all basic, no big deal.

I like how the title sounds like the three Mexicans are unrelated to the cutscene
