This game was lightyears ahead of it's time... But I'm grateful for all the nostalgic memories this absolute masterpiece of a game gave me. I remember when this trailer first came out... On a day in late November of 2009. I just came back from an exhausting day of 7th grade. I clicked, watched, and I was super excited and giddy for this game to come out. April 27, 2010. I remember opening the case for the first time. I played all Summer long with my friends. KZbin recommending me this video after so long gives me waves of nostalgia that I have never experienced before. And then 3 years later came GTA5. Another huge chunk of my childhood. Thank you Rockstar for shaping my childhood. It wouldn't have been so great without your games.

For me, someone who played this game through about 20-30 times, I can’t get behind saying RDR2 is the better game or that Arthur is a better developed character than John. Back in the day when this game came out I lived and breathed in this games atmosphere and story for almost literally 3 years. I don’t even remember playing other games for that period of time. This game was truly a masterpiece and in my opinion one of the greatest games ever created. I never quite got over Johns death, especially playing RDR2 and seeing him knowing his impending death, it made me sad. Don’t get me wrong Arthur is a great character and made me love red deads universe even more than I did before but John will always take the cake for me. Rdr1 truly was before it’s time and I’m glad I was introduced to it.

@@otoyoto7153 in my opinion, they really failed in terms of music in RDR2. It's got some good one's but they aren't as special, unique or memorable as RDR1. And even the story felt dissapointing.

@@sinscerity4839 Yeah, the music in RDR2 isn't nearly as iconic, there are like 2 tunes that were memorable, and while I kind of like "Unshaken" playing throughout the story and it fits Arthur well, it feels a bit out of place, too modern, almost modern enough to break immersion. If I'm playing a game based in 1899, I don't want to hear music that sounds like it's from 2019 unless there's a really good reason for it. Now that I think of it, the whole game feels a bit too "modern" where RDR1 felt very authentically old-timey. I love the game, but it almost feels like RDR1 was a genuine cowboy, where RDR2 is a hipster version of GTA wearing western clothing.
