Great video. I would argue that this car "changed the game." It is more like an evolution of the game. Shannon's first IFS car really, truly change Ultra4 and thus made people build cars like this one.

Thanks for the video. It's interesting to glean the details and have the developer/builder indicate what's important.

Why mostly ultra4 or trophy trucks has front independent suspension and solid rear axle? Can somebody please explain it to me when compared to full Independent suspension and full solid axle?
@DrivingLine4 жыл бұрын
Some cars are moving to an independent rear suspension, but that requires even more complicated drivetrain packaging and additional cost. The solid-axle rear IFS front setup has become somewhat of a proven go-to in both Ultra4 and Trophy Trucks. It's fairly easy to dial in and most of the time you can get more suspension travel out back using a trailing arm setup and solid rear axle.

Great informational video.... Very Ironic that the first clip in the video of Lorens car racing, Has his old IFS car in the background behind him.

Why no IRS? If independent front is so much better wouldn't an independent rear be better too? Can't remember any cars that didn't have fully independent suspension winning the Dakar for decades.

You realize how tough these trucks are compared to consumer grade right about the 3:24 mark. That would destroy an off-the-lot truck.
@anonymousanonymous99915 жыл бұрын
Obviously but it wouldnt take THIS much money to do it...maybe $10k for a whole build plus the actual truck...junk yard build tho eh $15k total and if you really know what you're you're and stil competitive.
@dant17192 жыл бұрын
@@anonymousanonymous9991 these trucks cost around 100k-200k for a build but to be competitive in this class it's around 1mill

@@gustafpeyron if you run a high pinion axle in the rear it will ride on the coast side which I believe is where he was getting at. Most are low pinion that I've seen which makes me wonder where the high pinion rear axle cars are because I never see that in ultra 4
