Red Dwarf Pete Part 2

a few minutes of one of my favorite episodes. they use a time wand to try and bring a sparrow back to life and regress it millions of years back to a dinosaur. it swallows Bob one of the little robots and Bob had the time wand. they make Cow Vindaloo (a very hot Indian curry made with meat or poultry, flavored with tamarind, vinegar, and garlic) to try and get him to poop it out.

I have to wonder a few things: This is three million years into deep space. If they are not allowed to have pets on board, then why would there be a cow there? Moreover, why would the cow not have mutated into a humanoid species like The Cat did? Consequently, after 3 million years, why would Birdman's bird Pete not have mutated into a humanoid species?

cows probably arent considered pets, and this is red dwarf before the 3 million years, rebuilt by the nanobots they had encountered 3 million years into the future. also with some improvements iirc, the ship was rebuilt a lot bigger, and the crew healthier. it's how rimmer is alive, rather than a hologram.
