I think about 2 years in security and a few months in red hat Linux

U don’t have to have 5yrs experience but you can put 5 yrs or 3 or 4 yrs experience and just be confident and take your chance. My friend just got three months ago a database administrator job and put 6yrs experience on his cv but had none… it is a 100k job………just was trained and stack up his cv and that is all

Dear Jama, you CAN do RHCE without RHCSA. However, you will not receive your RHCE certificate unless you go back to basics and pass RHCSA. This is odd and silly. My guess is that they are just making more money.

Yes that is right, so not much point to doing a RHCE certification if you will not do an RHCSA at some point

What did you use to prepare for the exam? I went on Red Hat website and the course is $3400 us dollars for just the first course. That is way too expensive for me. Any recomendations would be apprceciated. Thank you

No, it's not! If it won't add anything to your career growth or knowledge (since you already know the product), then there's not need to get this cert and spend so much money imo.

I have worked as desktop support for 4 months and currently support engineer (infra) for 10 months. I want to advance my career by jumping to another company, so is it possible to get rhcsa and use that to possibly get higher pay? Because my current company use a lot of rhel os in certain environment and I know how important they are when we want to do the deployment. So what do you think?

You can use CentOS VM for practice, it’s free and is the closest Linux flavor to RedHat
