Weird. The lyrics for me hit home in an odd way. As a teenager I fell in love with street hockey. Would get together with some family and close friends. And play across the street, from my parents house. School parking lot. Any way. After graduating, we stayed playing for a while. Into my mid 20's. I strictly remember playing 2 v 1 vs my cousin and his best friend. And an ex gf of mine was a bit tom boyish. She happened to be my goalie and made one crucial save. Long story short we'd play to 7. Win by 2. 7 game series. Of course you couldn't script it any better. We're up a goal at the end of game 7. She makes that save. The lights turn out @ 11:00 pm in the parking lot. Well, we were down to, less than a minute. I got the puck, shot it at my cousin. He made the save, the puck went in the air...I'm tracking it on the way down, and as its coming down, the lights go off. And I take a baseball swing at essentially nothing. Hoping for contact. Which of course, I magically happened to hit a metaphorical home run. Puck goes in the net, and without seeing it, I know it did. Cause I heard it. The part that says "turn the corner and find the world at your command." I got with my wife shortly after this. I have 3 kids. And haven't played much hockey since. That parking lot has been empty for too long. 😤

Nice. I haven't been into the Peppers for a long time. Blood Sugar Sex Magic was their peak, in my opinion, and aside from a song here or there, the band's albums just weren't that great. To me anyway. This is a great song.
