Wow this greenhouse is super stunning. I can understand how people could end up becoming collectors of these. I just got my first Nepenthes and am wanting to make sure I can get it right before I get any more. Would love to have a small collection

These plant structures are living breathing vaginas! I love it! It's incredible how much nature mimics human biology. The evidence that God/Universe celebrates human anatomy. These plant formations are reflections of us. It's our job to analyze the why through our admiration. Incredible!

Thanks for the tip on fish pellets. I thought it would have been alright feeding my nepenthes recently swatted flys, but I had noticed the pitchers dying from the top down. Maybe I'll be able to rehab it with fish pellets.

Hello, I have a situation that I was hoping you could help me with. I have been growing some spineless prickly pear cacti since last summer. I live in South Carolina. Last summer I planted 18 pads and collectively I am now up to 108 pads! They were transplanted in my yard back in September. They took to the transplant well and continued growing. I have other prickly pear growing in my yard that are much larger with spines. The recent cold spell that has been hitting the east coast really did some damage to my Spineless cacti. I did not cover them for the winter because the other prickly pear that has been growing in my yard for years have always been fine in the cold. Anyway, my Spineless cacti all dropped overnight. They wilted, turned transparent yellow, and started to detach from the base pad. The base pads were fine for the most part. I have cut off all the wilted pads and have them drying on newspaper in my house hoping to have them callouss over so I can plant them to grow new pads themselves. Is this possible, or are they dead? I am posting pictures of the pads on my Instagram @mr.renaud. Thanks for your time. Love your channel!
@seiyuokamihimura5082

I havent seen the pictures, but from the description thats frost damage. As long as the base pad remains firm, itll pop back up. Some strains have absolutely none of the protection and ail resistances that typical strains have. I suggest you keep an eyw on any plant you get, same species or not. If its different genetics, its likely it will require different care.

Why are my indoor plants experiencing a burst of growth/new leaves? I live in northern Indiana with most of my plants getting the southern sun exposure(year round) and the faithful humidifier to combat the furnace.
@seiyuokamihimura5082
@seiyuokamihimura5082 4 жыл бұрын
Blam. Southern sun. More sun, faster growth. Its not problematic. However if your plant gets too unruly, simlly cut the vine back, and pawn it off on another plant enthusiast. Your plants, and plant people will thank you.

i know this thread is two years old. but dude. really? i understand being protective of the hobby one cherishes so much. i myself have an extensive collection of begonias and species orchids. and i would protect others in the plant community. however, where i disagree with your action of bad mouthing another grower, especially in the comments of a highly viewed interview and tour of his greenhouse, is firstly - it's not your place. period. any alleged transgression was not committed towards you. apparently the supposed victim doesn't feel the need to shit talk about the man here. you should let the victim be the one, if anyone, to raise such things. they have the legitimate claim to do so. and any relevant facts. not you. secondly - i've done some research myself and have concluded that since i wasn't there and since any information available is uncorroborated and in effect just here say, it's just speculation and we should be above such negativity. now i can also list a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth point as to why your comment is unwarranted but will leave off with that your commentary in the end just paint you as bitter and jealous. either because of his collection or success. whatever way it just makes you look to be the bad one. so maybe in the future you should just keep your mouth shut about shit that doesn't concern you. i'm not defending anyone or anything. i'm simply pointing out the fact that it's not a good look being the one to stir up unneeded drama and strife. it's dramatic fag-like bullshit like this that has no place in the plant community. play that game someplace else. everyone is here for the plants, not to throw allegations. sorry.

He is well-known in the Carnivorous plant community as a suspect in many Nepenthes thefts from multiple greenhouses over the years. Irresponsible to give him this platform without doing your research about him and the hobby.

@@StefanNeher ouch. see again talking about shit you have no knowledge of, simply relying on "the force" or whatever shit the presumptive use for navigation. i am a born and raised Manhattanite. openly gay single father of a 7 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. i wouldn't vote for donald trump if his whole family was on fire and they were giving out door prizes. my childhood may have instilled a more conservative over all tone when it comes to financial matters. however on social issues i'm as far left as you can go. screeching to a halt right before out of control cancel culture and pussy hat feminism (even if just for comedic irony). once again i will say, "I am not defending anyone or anything. I am simply saying that the negativity is not a good look in the comments section of a plant vlog post. it uglies any of the people compelled to slap their two cents on the preverbal table. it seems to me that plants may not be providing you with the otherwise commonly experienced calming and centering effects you need. maybe get some fish. an aquarium can be very soothing and time consuming to boot. sit back and watch them swim around all day. you could even name them after other karens you may admire. IDK. just a thought.
