Really enjoyed that . Great action . Those where so e gorgeous perch . I've not seen one since the end of November . Can't find them anywhere on my local canal . I got those micro crayfish . What weight cheb/jig head and size weedless/jig head hook you using with them ?

Glad to hear you enjoyed it 👍 It really can be tricky this time of year and everyday seems to be different at the moment. After a fair few miles of walking it was great to be rewarded with some stunning perch. From the canal the micro crayfish in junebug has accounted for quite a few species in a number of different conditions. We normally rig them on a 1g cheb with a size 7 weedless hook.

Great video as always I do take issue with the insult thrown at your mate (I think you should go back to fix spool) talk about kicking a man when he's down 😂

I like to keep him on his toes Matt. I do enjoy seeing him quietly trying to sort out his birdies hoping I hadn't noticed. He does seem to be getting much better at picking them out now though 😅🤔

Crackin sesh Bois, gotta love the bag for life as a weigh up bag. They were proper pigs, the creature baits work well in this weather 👌 just subscribed to the channel

Yes, unfortunately, we've misplaced the old weighing sling. Thanks for the sub it's much appreciated mate 👍

@@UltralightLads whatever works at the end of the day mate, there is always something left in the van whenever I venture out, least you got to weigh them up. It's refreshing to see some beasts coming out the canal this time of year. Quality inspiration for the rest of us on a blank at the moment 👍

I think we're all guilty of that at some point Daniel! I guess in the excitement of jumping out the vehicle and setting everything up and chucking cameras all over ourselves, things do get overlooked! All hail the carrier bag! Every day we have been lately has been different. Some days gin clear conditions and some days it's like builders tea but it's reassuring they are there. It's been very hard work at times, but plugging away we managed to get the results. I'm sure you'll get amongst them soon! Tight lines!

Cracking session lads 👌 some beautiful 🍒🍒🍒just a tip on the bfs reel I'm not sure if you have tried reeling the slack to the tip for these little flick casts personally I find it much much better for accuracy and overall feel of the flick is more fluid and smooth 👌

Thanks mate much appreciated 👍. Totally agree that I do have to much drop before the cast. It just doesn't seem to stick in my head for some reason. On your bfs how long to you normally have the leader? I think my issue is that I have gone back to having the leader knot just before the end eye, which then is to long to have an accurate cast.
@NetfishnChill Жыл бұрын
@@UltralightLads most of the time I use a very long leader compared to most especially if I'm skipping under docks or fishing around bridges sometimes 5-6m of leader so my braid is not rubbing on stuff but my fc is . If I'm casting open water I'll fish a shorter leader , but usually i want atleast 1m maybe abit more in that case so the fish is not watching the braid as easily, But with all snags here it let's me break of allot and change to dropshot ect without tying new leader . I use the fg knot so it's super small and have no issues bgoing through guides

@@NetfishnChill That makes perfect sense. I am pretty lucky with our canal as it's fairly snag free, apart from when I miss the water and it ends up in the hedge on the other side. I really like the idea of the longer leader so that you can switch between the two. I'll have to experiment a little next time and see if the albright goes through the eyes ok. If not then it's time to learn a new knot 😁. Cheers for your help it's appreciated

If the canal is snag free try 4lb fluoro straight through what I'd give for a snag free canal 😔

How you getting on with the so solid bfs rod? Does it still struggle to cast the low weights?
@UltralightLads Жыл бұрын
So I am fairly new to using bfs setups and my casting certainly isn't as good as I'd like! I now use the so solid rod mainly for my heavier stuff, casting 3.5g up to around 5-6g gram with some of my zman lures. Then I have the Elf Ajing rod that I use for lures around 1.5g to 3g. I have used the so solid rod with lures around 2g but I find it a bit challenging.

@@UltralightLads yeah I too struggling with the so solid bfs with the lighter stuff, glad it wasn’t just me then 👍🏻
