Red Loreds are one of the best parrots to have in your home. Mine will be 41 this year and acts like a 3 year old, I've had her for 40 years she was a rescue parrot. She doesn't talk as much now but can let the world thats she still around.

Strikingly beautiful bird and makes some great gurgling noises too. I've got a very handsome blue fronted amazon who is now 7 y.o. He likes to cuddle up with me and makes bubbly noises.

blue fronts are sweet , red loreds can be very agressive, i sometimes think they are a type of jungle hawk .

Mine's moody too, one minute he's a cuddle monster the next he's on a war path. They're so amazing, it's worth the duck n' weave lol. Lovely video!

My red lored Jada will be 38 in a few months. I raised him from the age of six months. What he lacks in speech, he makes up for in his sweet disposition. They are very emotional too and know when you need a little TLC too!

My red lored will be 36 in September. She too doesn't talk much but she's got her own little personality and she's very affectionate. I've been married 3 times, I have 3 kids and now 3 cats as well. She rules the house!! My parrot chases my cats, smh. I can't imagine life without her.

i have a red lored and she an awesome bird. she makes the cat wistle when i take her in the shower. i also taught her to come back to me just like a boomerang. i know not immpressive but she used to fly into a window or just fly away from me and land on a window curtain.

Amazon birds are also known to cuddle...when people think about affectionate they think cockatoo..well not nessasarily...amazon have a tendency to cuddle with owners alot...but not too much where they need u all the time...thats whats great about these parrots:)

we used to cuddle alot but dynamics have changed, CooCoo Berry has paired up with Sydney and although its only a friendship, they have become increasingly commited to eachother and possesive of eachother.

Thank you, adopted them, this is Coo Coo Berry, although he is sweet, at times he can be out for blood , depends on his complicated moods and if im doing what he wants or not. he has paired up non sexually with a cockatoo. unlickly pair, and wild flocks of red headed conures have began to circle their aviary.

Victor Vasquez My white fronted Amazon bonded with a parakeet. At first when the parakeet tried to get friendly my Amazon bit her and drew blood! The parakeet persisted. Soon they sat together when out of their cages and then the Amazon put her head down for the keet to preen. That became a daily routine. When the parakeet died of old age my parrot acted lost for awhile when out.
