I heard Francois Rabath (debating his own revolutionary technique) say "how will you get lost if you practice?" Here we have another iconoclast, showing us that we should follow what feels right.

There should also be another fifth tuned upright bass, and this is the tuning: G0, D1, A1 & E2, three octaves lower than the violin or the mandolin. There should also be an upright bass pickup to plug into the bass amplifier or a special subwoofer. French & German style bows included.

There should also be 2 Cajun fifth tuned upright basses. And these are the 2 Cajun tunings: Bb0, F1, C2 & G2; and F0, C1, G1 & D2. And the upright bass pickups for those 2 Cajun fifth tuned basses should be added, too. French & German style bows also included.

@UC-azO1o5SK5cpUnxLBui3vg Red Mitchell has his Bass tuned like a Cello (C, G, D, A) cause for him it's very Jazzy. I believe other guys before him have used it, but Mr Mitchell bought this tuning back to life.

WOW!! I've never seen this style of playing the upright, AMAZING sounding low notes...he's tuned in 5ths I think, like a violin!
@gonzogranny2975 жыл бұрын
he absolutely is C1, G1, D2, A2. well spotted.

@@gonzogranny297 It's the same as a Cello but an Octave down & yes all you need is a good Cello method when playing a Bass in 5ths Tuning just pick it up look at the music play the melody lines the only difference is you'll sound an Octave lower.

Chris Budhan Red Mitchell tuned his Double Bass like a Cello (C, G, D, A) down an Octave because it has better intonation.
