Speaking from northern Maine, I see one other problem that perhaps this past winter has now shown you - with that top stair set right up to the bottom of the storm door, you'll have to shovel the stair *completely* clean after every snow and ice event or the door will be blocked and/or the door rubber down below will be torn off. There needs to be a few inches of drop so the door isn't trying to sweep ice or snow residue all winter, but I love this video. The two of you are awesome!

Concrete used to be so cheap that steps, landing, and even a whole porch were commonly made of it. Salting the ice likely helped the material to chip, then someone underestimates just how solid it is and gets tired of chipping away at it. I've seen a lot of deck porches built over the sad remains of a concrete porch someone gave up on completely removing.

I would have started with the vodka......then got more vodka......and added a splash more of vodka....then told Dougo to come over to try and find the oil leak on his pickup that is dripping all over the garage floor and roped him into helping. Hey, just saw this video. Not sure if you still have your stairs in the same shape or not? If so, here's an ez fix. Mark each side of your top step, on he under side at the stair jack. Remove the step, cut out about 1/4-3/8 of an inch using your saw. Then reinstall the step. Should work better now. Wish you the best.

Thanks for sharing, sorry for the late comment or double comment - There should be a center stringer (16" on center or less), landing only required for 4 steps or more so you are ok there, you should nail in any vertical loads (especially into house) as screws don't have sheer strength.

Been watching your Channel like it I farmed all my life The Farm 1500 Acres 150 acres string beans 800 acres of corn didn't raise soybeans they have varieties now that work in northwest Michigan so there's a lot of soys grown now grew 100 acres h a y the rest in a wheat and oats did this with eight r o w equipment that was big time equipment in my area now they're using 12 and up to 24 row equipment now doing the same Acres I did steps look good just need to lower your outer stringers lower so then your step would have been lower under the door I did a little carpentry work around the farm made pens for a 1500 hog building with slats like the building you have just renovated for storage I just did want to be carpenter work around the farm did the best I could again love your Channel keep up the good work oh PS rented my farm have a farmer that uses 12 roll equipment 12 roll corn h e a d
