I had to look up the budget and.....omfg. 250 million?! what?! I havent heard a thing about this movie. I suppose coming out this early gives it a month and half to make a lot of money with families, just like Jumanji did. But damn, thats a huge budget, and even if it somehow cracks 500 million, itll just be making its money back. I cant imagine this makes 3/4 of a million

I wasn’t expecting much, I know it was never going to be an instant Christmas classic but I was hoping to enjoy it more than I did. To be honest there’s a good chunk of positives in this, the cast is pretty solid for this particular film, Chris & the Rock do have great chemistry and J.K Simmons does play a very interesting and unique Santa. Each Santa Claus film does tend to have a unique style regarding the North Pole & Santa himself and this one was a really interesting take and probably a more realistic one too. It was definitely a more enjoyable part of the film. This film does have a good amount of potential, not enough to be a Christmas classic but enough to get some enjoyment out it and it does but it’s really let down by the script & story. I was hoping for more of a comedic film but either the jokes just don’t land or they’re just not there. There’s a good portion of jokes spread in the film but not enough to make a decent impression. And aside from the basic plot, the direction isn’t something I was too enthusiastic about, especially the villain who didn’t make much of an impact I went into this knowing it wouldn’t an instant classic or a top tier film but I was hoping for something more. It’s not a bad film, it’s fairly entertaining but certain aspects do let it down.

Just because its a 'broad' family film, dosen't mean it has to be lazy, unsophisticated filmmaking. Plenty of four quadrant films that are well made. The movies that The Rock makes are NOT some of those.

Hey Sean, what’s your pick for a movie that will make people appreciate being single?
@SeanChandlerTalksAboutКүн бұрын
I have no idea. I've been married almost 18 years. I'm very pro-marriage. So I don't naturally resonate with the concept of an "appreciate being single" movie.
@kh7688Күн бұрын
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout Excellent response, refreshing to read about youtubers who are pro-marriage. As opposed to so many who treat marriage like something that should be relegated to the past. I love being married, best thing I ever did.

@@kh7688I don’t think the original comment meant anything negative. Sometimes people want to find love or be in a relationship but need to be on their own for a bit for personal growth, or are struggling to find it. Learning to be comfortable by yourself and waiting for love to come into your life at the right time can be very healing for people. I think “The Lobster” with Colin Farrel or “Her” with Joaquin Phoenix would resonate with people that are single. Both are great commentaries on relationships.
@kh7688Күн бұрын
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout I understand, I think people like yourself are helping remove the stigma around being a married man. They see someone like you who is cool, charismatic, approachable and still youthful. Yet, a devout husband and father. Believe me, more people will appreciate the sanctity of marriage than you can imagine. Keep up the great work in both your professional work and as a husband and father, God bless.

What's wrong with a movie having an 'excessive"budget? If a studio wants to throw away money, that's their decision. Disney does it all the time
@NinthShinigamiКүн бұрын
Sean made a video clearly highlighting that not only does the studio lose money, that jeopardizes other projects and films from the studio. Stuff people might actually find interesting or pay to go see. They start cutting back and it affects our entertainment.
