Neat fly, your split tail technique is the best I've seen and seems to keep them from shifting. Thanks

Thanks. I saw this technique from Wayne Luallen. You can search him on KZbin. 🍺🍺😀

What I really like about your videos is not only the detailed explanation of the how and why's but how detailed the videos are. The close ups of the glue spreading and the individual fibers of 18/0 nanosilk are amazing. Lots of good info and techniques in this one. It will take me at least 6 or so flies to perfect this technique. Again, great video, teaching, and nice fly.

You and Charlie Cravens are two of the very best at taking the time to explain fly tying techniques. Thanks.

Your videos are the best. I always struggle with the parachute wrap. I think you just cleared it up for me.

Thanks so much for the compliment. I struggled too with parachute flies, then i stumbled upon Hans Van Klinken's article about his klinkhåmer. It opened my eyes. I have a video klinkhåmer and thought behind it... Maybe it will help a bit more. Best Vladimir 🍻😀

Excellent! Two questions...1) shouldn't the chest dubbing be darker? 2) only if you know, when will you be able to do a nettle fly construction demonstration? Thank you Vladimir!

Thanks so much my friend 1) not necessarily, insects have it lighter sometimes. But usually its same colour. Wing case cover in nymphs is usually darker. 2) i suppose you are referring to the needle fly? If so... I can do it whenever, i dint have a schedule. Although i never used a specific imitation for it.

I would be really interested in finding out more about how you make your videos. Is it a phone on a tripod/ gopro/other? I want to share basic videos on traditional Irish flies, but don't want a very technical setup. Minimum requirement for acceptable quality would be great.

It depends on how much detail you want to show. I use sony @6400 plus sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro lense. Sony has 4K video format which is great. Sigma lense is old. Probably 30+years. But its good and sharp. Whole setup is less than 1000euros. I do use small tripod and very good lamp. It has 18w LED light. Light is probably most important factor to have good detail... Nowadays you can record with phones and still have pretty decent quality. Most phones will have 4K video... Quality wont be as from camera but still decent... Look at my videos from some 3+years ago. They were done with phone. Old Huawei nova 5T.... Whatever you use, settings need to be manually set. Especially focus has to be manually set so it doesn't hunt all around as you move your hands..... Hope this helps Vladimir

@@Oholisfliesandfishing thank you so much. I have a lot (bit of an addiction) of tying materials. I'd like to send you something as a thank you for your videos and help. I've started the journey to tying classic salmon flies. How about I send you the stuff you need for one of those patterns so you can try a different type of tying? If you would rather not send an address (cos there are unusual people out there, lol) I'm happy to post to a post box instead?

@@garynoonan7373 i was thinking about salmon flies too.. But i am afraid my wife may divorce me. All kidding aside, i am assuming that if i go into salmon fly tying that it will be great addiction too... Plus more expensive Anyway, thank you so much for your kind offer. Lets continue here oholidzo@yahoo.com 😀🍺
