As a former ASE painter, factory paint jobs never match what humans can do. Robots cant SEE!!!. I see orange peel on almost every new vehicle. Some foreign autos have really good paint jobs. I think a painter like this will show much better when this repaired parts are reassembled. 😁

How are you a supposedly a pro but don't know orangepeel is something you control not eliminate. Factory finishes are a uniform peel and if you're a good painter you'll match it when doing a repair.

WA434B sometimes can utilize a tinted midcoat to achieve vibrancy.

I'm also a former painter and what surprised me is the paint now days plus the guns your using. In my day it was a Blinks 18 or a Sharp 75.

I will say I could put a finish on that never had orange peel which the body men hated. Where my problem came in is color matching. I just couldn't make out the under tones. That was back in the early 70s way before computers did the matching for you.

Luma guns are also my fav.. sun pro light tho will try. Love the color.. I’d paint a car that color but the tinted clearcoat.. hate it.. it just sucks to spray

I always masked the panel off with a 6 inch border of paper then plastic, I had issues with the base flaking off the plastic and into the clear when the air hit it.

Hey man nice job on the truck looks slick! got a question I’ve been having issues with plastic parts new bumpers and such in general my sealer keeps wanting to lift when I’m applying basecoat solvent….some people say not waiting long enough for sealer to flash but i was able to dirt nib and would wait the required flash time and still have issues and if you wait to long on flash times I was told from rep’s sealer will harden and the basecoat won’t grab idk

Some sealers are a wet on wet.... so try to spray color literally right after you seal

What pressure and fluid adjustment do you use on that Exodus clear coat gun, I just bought one and it's laying down good but coming out a little more peely than I wanted to. I've only been painting a little over a year and still learning the trade

Full fluid. Fan quarter turn in from widen open. 24 psi

35# psi (depending on compressor volume), wide open fan pattern adjusted down until pressure increases slightly.... Fluid output - 2 turns in from the moment the needle touches the trigger at full pull....

It's a tri coat stage paint turned into a candy by putting color in the clear and then put just clear over

What's going to happen to the airborne paint particles coming from the spray? Though this is internal pollution within a closed room with all the necessary precautions taken such as mask, closed loop air circulation with appropriate filters, etc.. I see lot of people using the same spray in open atmosphere. Pls don't just advertise the spray gun, but also show the required accessories along with it so that others seeing this just don't directly start using the gun.
