Red Rattlers on the Glen Waverley Line; Steamrail Tait Shuttles

On Queens Birthday Monday 13th June 2022 Steamrail Victoria operated shuttles on the Glen Waverley Line with the vintage Tait electric multiple units. The "Red Rattlers" operated seven shuttle trips between Darling and Glen Waverley.
In this video we see the shuttles at multiple locations along the line; including East Malvern, Holmesglen, Syndal, Jordanville, Darling and Glen Waverley stations.
These particular shuttles were the first heritage shuttles to be held on the Glen Waverley Line since 2013 and for me it felt like one big nostalgia trip; with the old Glen Waverley steam shuttles being among the first shuttles I filmed after getting into the hobby. This particular video is also the first new video I've uploaded on the Glen Waverley Line in over 5 years.

Watching this gives me a lot of respect for train drivers. Our lives in their hands. When I was much younger I lived in Durban in South Africa. Once a month we'd take the "puffing billy" to visit the folks in Eshowe, at that time Zululand, and chuff, chuff, up the hills, soot and smoke everywhere. I even went into the steam engine and watched them shovel coal to keep it puffing. Today everything's so fast and luxurious. We had one passenger coach on the train and it was uncomfortable but it was an adventure. Love the Red Rattling train and it's hooter. So cool.

Nice catch I was on it on that day doing the 10:37am shuttle between darling and Glen Waverley I also did some videos down at Glen Waverley station as it done the afternoon shuttle around 2pm. It is the first time I've been on one that day
