One of the best songs ever written period. That bridge in the middle...only LOVEBITES. Many GREAT bands from Japan, but these ladies are just a different breed imho. I mean, just think what you witnessed, live, during a heavy metal concert. The greats like Priest, Maiden aren't pulling that off. The Japanese women's bands Band Maid and Nemophila sing in mixed English/Japanese. Lovebites have been singing all their songs exclusively in English since 2018. Asami's English pronunciation has improved year after year. 🤘😳👍

Lovebites always sings in 100% English and does not mix Japanese and English lyrics together. They did release ONE song in Japanese on their very first EP (Bravehearted), but they later released an all English version of it. So from now on all their songs are English.

This song is a masterpiece, one of the best (hybrid) metal songs ever written. Also, Asami sings in English in EVERY song (except one song on their initial EP). However, her strong accent and imprefect enunciation can often make it difficult to understand her. But fans see this as a feature, and not a bug.

You're good, this is a good version. lol. I agree, you could call it a ballad for them. lol From the 3rd album, Electric Pentagram, written by Asami, Mao co-wrote the music with her. Show Chelle "Judgement Day" live from Knockin' At Heaven's Gate 2023. You haven't reacted to it either. She'll get to see a faster song, and meet new bassist Fami.

A Frozen Serenade has to be among my top five favourite Lovebites song. It's so good. As for Japanese bands with men in them, I would suggest Boris (though they also have a great female guitarist) and Melt-Banana (female vocalist though) for starters. Also Galneryus and Ningen-Isu.

Chelle, welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about the band: LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases. Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023. Recently their album „Judgement Day“ was voted #15 in best metal albums of the year 2023 by readers of Metal Hammer UK. Also „Stand and deliver“ was voted on #15 for best metal song of the year. What are fantastic results for a still relatively unknown and foreign band. And they will appear at several huge metal festivals this year again, a world tour is just announced. LOVEBITES finished touring Japan last October. They will be on a world tour this year. First dates are already announced for this summer. For example they will play on main stage at Hellfest/France, one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe. Now we are all waiting for more dates to come … The band members are (including their official nicknames) Asami on vocals (the one and only voice): Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch): She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars Midori on guitars (crazy shredder): Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete Haruna on drums (little big engine): Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers): Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger): she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3, also the band was Miho‘s idea, she and Haruna were the founding members!

My all time favorite song along with Soldier Stands Solitarily. It speaks to every emotion, it's fast but also calm, it's groovy but also metal, under it's sensitivity there's power and when things turn poewrfull sensitivity has already grabbed you by the beard. The sound of the piano is perfect to make you picture the serenity before the storm, the acoustic quitar with it's latin vibes enhances this feelling and then...boom!, the storm rushes in. But it's not here to destroy, it's here to heal, so it's welcomed. Every instrument goes fast but the initial mood's still there, the drums go crazy and yet you don't pay much attention to them because they're strategicaly hidden under a low mix, Haruna doesn't want to take anything away from the melodies of the quitars, her instrument is there just to support and she succeeds 1000%. And Miho supports equaly the drums and the quitars at the same time but her presence is more distinct. In my opinion this metal ballad has the most melodic bass lines i've ever heard. It's a sad song and how can sadness be conveyed without a clear, strong and prevaling bass sound? Thank you for keeping supporting this band and bringing Chelle to the party. New fans are needed because these ladies are still unknkown to many. But the rest of us are here to support them no matter what others think of them. One thing is certain, they'll never walk alone! Just after that, we learned that Miho was leaving the band and that they were going to take a hiatus ... many fans were afraid they'd never see Lovebites again. Miyako (already very pregnant here) and Asami took the opportunity to get married and have babies, they organized auditions to find THE bassist and finally, last year, they came back with their fiercest album yet! Lovebites are back, and will be playing festivals in Europe this summer, and I hope they'll be playing some venues too!

When you talk of Japanese metal/rock bands, there was an all male outfit in the late 1980s called EZO! However, they were under the guidance of Gene Simmons, and the Kiss influence was all over the band! Needless to say, after 2 albums, they faded away! If you can not find a band in the UK that is close, then look no further than Dragonforce! Today, I celebrate getting a ticket to watch Lovebites in Milan June 19! Good reaction by the way! Coys 😉

Dear Chelle, thanks for checking this out. What follows is just my opinions, obviously, but you started off your Lovebites journey with one of rock's masterpieces. How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twenty, max? I’m not talking about merely great songs. There may be a few hundred of those (out of millions of songs). A masterpiece is much more. It combines beautiful composition with brilliant execution. It tells a story, taking you through a range of emotions until it overwhelms you. For classical music fans, the iconic example is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. For something shorter and more comparable to a rock song, think of Ravel’s “Bolero”. Among actual rock songs, I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Clare Torrey and Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; and “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish. Many of the greatest rock groups never produced a masterpiece. Lovebites, in five short years, have given us several, and I think this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest.

A couple of suggestions for male (or mostly) male Japanese bands. Ningen Isu, often called the Japanese Black Sabbath and have 23 albums. Their song "Heartless Scat" is the usual entry point for reactors, but "A Colour Out of Space" is good as well. Also, the band Onmyo-za takes inspiration from Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, and has 16 albums. Their songs "Haou" and "AKKI~ HOUGAN (Live RAIJIN RAIBU)" are good first reactions, should you choose to react to them. Thanks for checking out the Japanese rock and metal scene, there is a rich history worth exploring along with the current bands.

Your pauses seriously screw with the flow and emotion of the song(and are too long). The song and band don't need that much discussion during the song. I said out loud to myself, "dont simply pause after that solo because it will kill the enotion and flow set up for the final lines." ......and paused. 🤦‍♂️ Sorry, couldn't help myself.
