Thank you Michael. I only had one video editor that could read all of the different video file formats. Still, it was fun putting this video together and Red River Valley is one of our favorite songs we play on Tuesdays. Dave

Thanks Ron. This is just plain playin' as simple as just plain playin' can get. I think we all were challenged but had fun recording our individual videos. It's great that we can still play music together and/or share individuals in a video in these times. Dave

this is really amazing, Get it 👍 for me it's not simple, it's very unique and I'm sure not everyone can play it

Thank you Alma. The mountain dulcimer was a simple home made instrument that evolved in the Appalachians from European instruments. With a diatonic fretboard, a stick to press on the frets, and a turkey quill or other form of pick, a person can sound out many simple songs. Of course, it can be (and is) played in more complicated ways. Dave

Good playing, especially Ann, she’s my adoptive mom.

Thanks Bob. I think Ann was one of the first to ask what we could do together on Playin' On The Porch. Dave

I really like Tennessee Daves version. I like the drone of a dulcimer, but sometimes it can be too much, IMO. That individual string picking changes it up.

Thank you Tbowie. I call it "Pick Hit At It". I've been playing that way long enough to where I don't even have to think about what string to play. Dave

@dholeton I've just bought a dulcimer a few months ago. I have a retirement property very close to Mountain View Arkansas, so I was able to go in to McSpadden and pick from the entire stock of instruments. I also play a bowed Psaltery harp and banjo, but arthritis is making banjo chording difficult. Being over the instrument, rather than behind it, is much more comfortable. I'm trying my best to learn your "flat picking" style, but flat picking and three finger picking are different, so it's not coming naturally. 😆 Anyhow, nice to come across Y'alls channel.
