Corindi River estuary is a barrier river estuary on the north coast of New South Wales. The river is a total of 30km long. It enters the ocean at the township of Red Rock. The largest tributary into the estuary is Saltwater Creek, which flows from the northwest through Yuraygir National Park.
There are vast tidal flats around the estuary entrance which provide critical shorebird habitat as well as recreational value to visitors and residents of Red Rock. Mangrove and saltmarsh communities are widespread in the estuary.
Corindi River, an open mature wave-dominated barrier estuary, is located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia.
Red Rock headland is part of the Solitary Islands Coastal Walk and is a significant place for the local Gumbaingirr people.
The rocks that make up the headland at Red Rock are named the Redbank River beds. The Red Rock itself is a twenty-meter high.
Red Rock is a great location to see dolphins surf the waves, pelicans following fishermen for their fishy treat, and a huge variety of birdlife while camping, fishing, kayaking, swimming, and boating.
