The Holy Spirit is what we invite to live inside of us to guide and comfort and protect us as we live a Christian life. That is why it is most important to receive Jesus and repent of your sins, ask Him into your heart first. Then you are saved and can be filled with the Holy Spirit. I was reading in John 15 about God pruning us when we are the branches abiding in Christ, the Vine. God spoke over me that every time I thought I was broken off and tossed into the fire, He was actually pruning me, because I have always abided in the Vine.
