Tot dusver was die somer maande die beste vir ons, maar ek weet hulle kry op die oomblik choka. Ons vat maar altyd choka jigs saam, mens weet nooit wanneer hulle gaan byt nie.

Hi, the best advice I have for you is to pic an area and start drifting and when you start getting bites you can anchor, that is what we have been doing with very good results. We have done a few trips this year and each time we picked a new spot and we landed romans on each trip.

How do you think a 4m fiberglass boat will handle this spot on a calm day

On a calm day it will be fine, I know someone with one with a 15hp on and they followed us at Gordons Bay.

How do you manage to go out fishing so far with only one motor. I am not being judgemental. I have a 14ft boat with a 40hp motor and would like to fish G/Bay but have limited my fishing to L/baan and Laaiplek your help and advice would be really appreciated.

Hi, most of my fishing we do from Laaiplek and run towards Dwarskersbos to the hottentot grounds. This is about a 7km run from Laaiplek, where we caught these Romans is only about 5km run from GB harbour. When we fish at Macassar, that is about 10km from GB Harbour, but less than 2km from the side. On the west coast 95% of the boats have single outboards, probably why we it seems normal to us. I always have signal and have the NSRI numbers and most of the times there are other boats. You are welcome to let me know when you plan a trip to GB and I will see if we can join with our boat.
