I have been advocating for a 6 man rotation for over a month now. Use Chriswell as the 6th man. Crawford and House are burnt out. It would do more harm to shut them down completely so limit their innings. The bullpen on the other hand is now a strength. Martin is going to be back Wednesday so someone will be sent to minors. Slaten should be back in 2 weeks. So both these players are fresh. Hopefully the people they sent down are getting rest. Weisert was spent. Most of the year he was pretty good so if the bullpen starts to get taxed. Rotate the players with Minor league options till the end of the season to keep them fresh. They also will get an extra man for the pitching staff on September 1st. That could be Liam Hendricks (If he is not up sooner.)

Offense wise I am thrilled. So many ways to beat the other teams. Our starting rotation definitely needs to be stabilized if possible. We need to quiet down these homers by other teams. I am not disappointed we didn't add Montgomery or Yamamoto to the team. Montgomery really isn't having a good year and Yamamoto seems pretty injury prone. I will give Breslow a "B" for his trade deadline moves. I like the two bullpen pieces of Sims and Garcia that we added. They might want to consider negotiating and extending them if they continue to do well if we can. They don't have to be mere rentals. Danny Jansen is kinda an under the radar pick. He has looked pretty good for us since getting here and adds another right handed bat. Lets do well vs the Royals tonight !!!! Go Sox!!! Great content young Corbin!!! Love what you're doing !!!! Between those interviews and content of these video's I nominate you for the sportscasters all star team !!!! Thanks, Joe. P.S. HOW BOUT THAT PERFORMANCE BY BIG MAPLE VS THE ROYALS TONIGHT FOLKS?????

Great take, Corbin! One of the things I have noticed, primarily from Houck, is that he is looking like he’s not comfortable on the mound. Now that is probably from the wear and tear of the season, but you can see that he’s obviously missing his spots. Another for me is that some are allowing too many walks to the 7, 8, and 9 guys. That’s been the straw that breaks them. I feel like instead of attacking them and challenging them, making them beat you, they have tried to nibble the corners too much. All in all though, I think this will be figured out by Bailey and the pitching staff, and the second wind will come as the season gets more interesting down the stretch. It’s better to slump now rather than in September or October! Cheers and Go Red Sox!

Nice series win. But it almost feels like we can't lose a game if want to keep up with the Royals & Twins who are just feasting on the White Sox & Tigers. The HRs the pitching staff is giving up is very concerning. They've given up 33 HRs since the AS break. Kutter has given up 12 HRs in his last 3 starts. Both the most in MLB. Bailey needs to adapt, Teams have definitely caught up to them.

The starting pitching particularly Kutter & Pivetta are proving to be what i thought they were nothing better then a #4/5 type starter. Back in April / May when most were singing their praises telling me i was wrong on them that i had to trust the process that Breslow & Bailey had worked with them and untapped some thing that they were much better then i was giving them credit for how’s that looking now. Back in 80 there was a HOF football coach of Giants / Patriots and while a different sport he correctly correlated “You are what the back of your baseball card saids you are “. Kutter and Pivetta are nothing more than #5 starters - no pitching coach can give them talent they don’t have !

Really needed a second starter at deadline. 6 man looks like a good option. Even if it’s a guy who’s gonna toss five homers, 1 freebie outta 6 is better than 2 freebies outta 5. Unsure who they stick in that slot.

Alex Cora likely will need to go with a six man rotation while relying more on his bullpen ... Our bullpen.definitely has not reached its peak and has the potential to quickly become a "lights out" staff ... The soon to be return of Chris Martin, Justin Slaten and possibly Liam Hendriks teaming up with Lucas Sims, Luis Garcia, Kenley Jansen, Zack Kelly, Brennan Bernardino and Josh Winckowski may possibly be the deciding factor in the Red Sox being able to play well into October ... Cora also taking a page from the Tampa Rays playbook by piecing together a few "bullpen games" down the home stretch might also make all the difference as well ...

Will be interesting to see what the Red Sox do about the pitching. That being said Pivetta could have gotten the last out in the inning. Seemed watching the game replay there was some issue between Cora and Pivetta . Im sure that got addressed and its done. Could just be a little fatigue making nerves a little short. The offense is just amazing. KC is a big series you are on the money !! "Let's Go Red Sox!!!

Doing well, next few series are going to be big. Pitching woes are from lack of experience from youngsters, meaning arm Fatigue. best way to fix it is going to the 6 man rotation, because if not, than you will have them giving up more homers and going less innings. I would put Criswell in as the 6th man and then figure out another long man besides Wincowski. Not sure if any arms down in Wooster are able to provide long relief, but I saw some of the Buffalo series and they said the Sox have the worst AAA relief staff right now, or one of the worse ones. We shall see what happens. Just need to take it one game/series at a time.

I still have very little confidence in our pitching. I feel like Houck, Crawford, and Bello are always going to give up 4-5 runs per game. Pivetta is a little better, but prone to a big inning. The pickups we got at the deadline are pretty below average guys too. Our offense is a little too streaky right now. We can put up a big inning, but more often than not we are leaving runners on the bases in scoring position. We gotta be more consistent. also...why is getting vaughn grissom back a thing? that guy is not going to be here long. a whole lotta could, and might's with grissom. at least hamilton hits...

Wait what!? The games were blacked out for me, but on the highlights I watched it did not look like Cora pulled Pivetta because he was trying to conserve his arm. The highlight show Pivetta walking past everyone in the dugout saying nothing, throwing his pitch comm carelessly. All of this following Cora first talking to him in the 2nd(?) inning after Devers (?) couldn’t make a play and Pivetta sort of pouted and threw his glove! Did nesn not cover this? Post game with Cora? Pivetta was literally at 70 pitches when he was pulled. I genuinely worried they might cut him after I saw the highlights because it looked like a team culture infraction. Anyways, it’s also interesting because Aaron Boone literally just did a similar thing to Gleybor Torres, but they addressed it immediately after the game. Lastly, I am genuinely concerned that Houck, Crawford are just in a new territory of endurance. Just last week Even Garrit Cole misses a start because of arm fatigue. I wish the Sox were in a position to maybe let them rest longer than normal. I wouldn’t mind seeing Winchowski or Bailey Horn start a game a pitch a few innings
@redseatradio2 ай бұрын
Nah I don’t think he was pulled for a bad attitude
@dennisbanks86062 ай бұрын
Pivetta was pulled as punishment for his dramtics pn Devrrs error. Nick was pissed and i get it. Cora could have let him keep pitching and just dogged him more in the dugout but Cora sent a message. Devers is leader and our team doesn't all cry everytime you give up a homer soo. It is what it is.
@jackm44572 ай бұрын
The starting rotation is so cooked, that, in order to fix it. Breslow would have had to trae for the 1999 edition of Pedro and the 2001 version of Randy Johnson. If Cora is able to take this team to a wild card spot, he becomes the John J. McGraw of the new millenium.
@stephencorsaro9542 ай бұрын
Sox starters are losing focus, most likely from mental fatigue, sporadically. This is the problem with plus inning ramp up in the early years with MLB starting pitching over all. It's how management can help them overcome. Pivetta and newly added Paxton are the only starters with any experience in this area. I'm really interested to see if the others can make the mental adjustments. This should tell a lot in the next 30 games. Hitting isn't the problem. Pitching and fielding are. If Crawford, Houke and Bello can get it together the Sox could make a run at the division. Dog days are a gut check.
