he was always my favorite pitcher growing up. i started as a young sox fan when martinez was in his last seasons with us but i was always so fond of josh and even clay buchholz and papelbon. i loved their mechanics and josh is actually from my home town and we see him around from time to time and he is such a nice guy

After the 2004 ALCS, the understanding that this team could win and all those years of losing and blown games were no longer a part of the Sox psyche, had hit home. 4 WS wins in 15 years, this team is on fire.

I think around the 10th game of the 2007 season I knew the Red Sox were going to win the WS that year... Amazingly solid and plenty of depth on that team. Great balance between veterans and hungry newcomers...

The True Cy Young Winner(Josh Beckett) beat the AL Cy Young Award Winner(C.C. Sabathia) not once but twice in that ALCS, especially in Game 5 when the Indians went into that game up 3-1 in that series.

CC was the better pitcher during the regular season that year. All Becket did was win 1 more game than CC. CC pitched 40 more innings, had a lower ERA and more K’s on less run support.

Honestly, 07 wasn't that painful to me. Primarily cause Boston was the better team. I knew we would lose the series if we didn't win game 5. Sabbathia was not a good match up against those hitters and it gave them momentum. I seriously can't even look at pictures of 97. That one still ticks me off.

Fun Fact Cleveland was so close to going to the World Series in 2007 and would have Won the World Series in 2007 if they did not blow a 3-1 Lead in the ALCS! Then Cleveland Finally go to the World Series in 2016 and Lose to the Cubs after being up 3-1! Go figure!
